Probably the most important one is we need that Saliba extension signed too. Still nervous that we could fumble that!Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 9:22 amIf true - that Declan is determined to be a gunner, that significantly weakens West Ham’s hand.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 8:18 am|| West Ham have admitted for the first time “Man City have come in for Declan Rice” - however - it seems that the player is looking certain to snub any move to the Etihad in favour of crossing London to Arsenal [Via - C & H].

Rice
Havertz
Lavia
Timber
Xhaka out
Significantly stronger first 11 - whatever formation we play and with subs at a good standard too.
Not sure where Nelson is going to get much game time but if he is in £100k a week, doubt he will care

Fuck me that has to the funniest horseshit creator name ever!

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Presumably if Rice and Lavia join, Xhaka and Partey leave - so whilst I agree that the starting XI strengthens, we would still be looking at Jorginho as the only credible back up to either. Will Arteta sign Timber but retain Tomiyasu and White? Would be surprised if either tolerated being a back up. As for Havertz, I just can't see where he fits and would he be so eager to join us as a backup player? That's the real worry - who makes way from Jesus, Odegaard, Martinelli and Saka? Like you say, there already doesn't seem enough room for Reiss....Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 9:22 amIf true - that Declan is determined to be a gunner, that significantly weakens West Ham’s hand.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 8:18 am|| West Ham have admitted for the first time “Man City have come in for Declan Rice” - however - it seems that the player is looking certain to snub any move to the Etihad in favour of crossing London to Arsenal [Via - C & H].

I think it's fairly obvious. Rice is the Partey replacement. Havertz is Xhaka's replacement. Lavia is cover/ will play when Rice is rotated, and will cover more cup games. Jorginho will be a bit part player again and he knows it.
Defense will be interesting if we sign Timber. I suspect a battle between him and Benny for the RB spot. With the other one covering when rested and playing domestic cup games. Saliba and Gabby will be first choice CB's with Tomi, Benny and Timber all able to cover CB along with Kiwior. Zinchenko will be LB with Tierney playing more games as well. Kiwior can step in if needed.
We'll certainly have a much better squad if we sign Rice, Havertz, Lavia and Timber. Our domestic cup teams will be much better without having to risk 1st team regulars.

Looks like we got a clear run on Rice now, with all the news about City making a bid not being proven to be correct.
Third bid in, lets get this over the line. For me this is the biggest signing for 20 years+, a real statement of intent from the club.
And that exWHUemployee is just about the reliable source out there right now, absolutely trumping SSNs reporters that have been totally off the mark so far.

I totally agree about SSN Nut, they've been nothing short of a disgrace with their pure 'guessing' and constant 'City are doing this' bollox. They're trying to stir shit to create news because there is zero football news at the moment, just small transfers unworthy of headlines so they want to create a bidding war that doesn't exist. Since last Thursday they've been saying 'Two large bids to be made today'.....fucking rubbish. Every man and his dog knows Rice wants Arsenal and vice versa. West Ham have a choice of selling him for good money or keep him and piss him right off and risk a poor season from him or worse. You can't keep an unhappy player.

The talk amongst Gooners at the end of last season was that we needed to bring in 4 or 5 proven players with real character to challenge next season - no way we challenge next season with that team. You argue that we will have a much better squad, and while I'm not sure on that point, the one thing I will say is that the improvement to the starting 11 is marginal at best - leaving rice aside for a minute, the other 3 players have proven nothing in england, and if anything you can argue that havertz has had 3 seasons and the only thing that he has proven is that he isnt good enough.
Totally underwhelmed if these are our summer signings

Have to agree. It's debatable if those additions improve us at all. If they do, I'd venture its marginal. I've always agreed we need a bigger better squad, but also we need a superior first 11 than we had last season. I honestly do not believe these players will make that happen. I hope it does, but I'm doubtful.augie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 3:39 pmTeeCee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 12:23 pmI think it's fairly obvious. Rice is the Partey replacement. TeeCee mate I'm starting to think you are in love with Declan Rice! I've never seen anyone so obsessed with one player. Your posts are getting more hysterical by the hour.TeeCee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 1:54 pmI totally agree about SSN Nut, they've been nothing short of a disgrace with their pure 'guessing' and constant 'City are doing this' bollox. Look, the fact that he has a 10" cock (allegedly) has nothing to do with it.
I like him simply because he's huge in the tackle.......

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I think people are missing our younger players will be even better next year now as well , they aren't gonna stand still.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Sometimes players that leave Chavs do much better after they move. De Briun & Salla - for example. Lets hope the same for Havatz. He was crap with them. I'd be sorry to see Party go. Offload Viera & I'll be happy.
