Why is it that every single time people around us drop points we never make up any ground?

Lack of urgency and intensity at the club which has been endemic for years. Should be two points behind with the dippers under huge pressure. But of course we're not and can then come third by a few points at the end of the season and the narrative of giving it a good go, making up a few points and coming close can continue for another year at least. It's what the club loves more than anything.
