I think citeh have downed tools as they know a big points deduction is coming which will kill their season .

If it was always the plan for Pep to stay beyond this season he’d have extended last summer but he didn’t.

2 things have happened here -

1 - he announced to the players that this would be his last season and similar to when Fergie did it they’ve switched off and downed tools en masse. Big panic and they get him to extend but the ship has taken on too much water to remedy.

2 - players have got wind of the 115 punishment and know the season is dead no matter what they do so they’re treading water. You can bet a lot of them are on to their agents saying get me the fuck out of here before the punishment hits.

There must be something more at play here than the alternative theory that every single player has just naturally tanked all at the same time.

I admire your positivity, but honestly, after the last couple of league games, it does feel we’re missing more than just one player? No spark, inventiveness, or pacey play, and very predictable. So many players not on it, and I think we’d pretty much have to win every game. But here’s hoping!
