I'm actually crying. The soundtrack to my youth.
He was the Naz with god given ass. He took it all too far, but boy could he play guitar.

Fuck me.

I was just thinking I might pick up 'Blackstar' today - he only released it a few days ago.

I didn't even realise he will ill.

A true legend of music. RIP Mr. Jones.

Ashes to Ashes imo was one of the most iconic songs of the new romantic electronic era. Yet you couldn't label Bowie as being any type of musical genre. The bloke was a genius it's only seeing the news today you realise how many times he re-invented himself.

RIP David Bowie.

Woke Up Late and rushed to work - so didn't listen to the radio as I usually do...then some nonce in the office cracked a joke about it - When I asked what he was on about? He said 'Haven't you heard? that freak Bowie bit the big one yesterday' I was so shocked I just stood there...speechless and motionless.... fuck why are some people such horrible cuntts.

Totally Gutted - His music inspired, excited and healed me throughout the highs and lows of my younger days...A True 'Genius' whose music truly changed the world and music itself...

I am in tears man...just f*ckin' Gutted - This feels worse than when Lennon went. Saw him on the Ziggy Stardust Tour at Bristol Colston Hall summer of 1973 and was one of the best gigs ever - I still get goose bumps when I remember him doing "Starman" Live- That acoustic opening alone inspired me to go out and buy an acoustic guitar the following week - All because I wanted to learn that song...and of course dyed the hair and freaked my father Right out!

It still gives me shivers all these years later.

RIP Dear Dear David.

Terrible news about Bowie. :( He was one of the few remaining true superstars. So many great songs.

Weirdly, a guy on Oirish radio that had heard an advance listen to Blackstar spoke about the album last week and said he thought "the lyrics indicated that Bowie was coming to terms with his own mortality". Little did he know. :(

RIP Ziggy. 8)

First verse of the new single
Look up here, I'm in heaven
I've got scars that can't be seen
I've got drama, can't be stolen
Everybody knows me now
That guy is a genius.  RIP Thin White Duke, don't think you'll be returning form this one.

The title track from Blackstar, er, Blackstar  , is fucking wonderful. 10 minutes of your life that you won’t want back. It’s so good, and so impossible to categorise.

He recorded the whole album whilst riddled with cancer, and releases it just before his death; a showman to the end. 8)

RIP David ,true genius and icon in a world where such terms are used too loosely . Loved his music, glad that I saw him play live.

RIP
In mid seventies Ireland we had RTE Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 for football and Radio Luxembourg for late night music, Ed Stewart was one of the names I remember from the time on 208.
