According to the English language version of Der Spiegel, Diaby's been taking acting lessons and is thinking about a future on the silver screen after his inevitable retirement from football.

Just watch, Wenger being the total *word censored* that he is will give this malingering waste of space a contract extension on the back of this 20th 'comeback'!!!! :banghead: :banghead:

I do hope so, seeing the outpouring of angst on here as a result is worth paying his wages for another year. 8)

Wouldn't it be just kinder to switch off the machine rather than extending his suffering another year?

Based on Wenger's interview today, I'd say Diaby is set for a new contract. Pay as you play.

No surprise really, but it'll be interesting to see what people on here think

He can't regain match fitness and he won't stay fit for long enough to matter.

He doesn't warrant a squad place.

Absolutely. It's madness to offer Diaby a place in the squad regardless of whether it's pay as you play or something more permanent, as sadly his playing days are clearly numbered

I actually thought there was a good chance he would retire, but if that wasn't going to happen I was confident a pay as you play deal would be on the table at Arsenal.

Have the feeling one crunching tackle goes in and his legs will snap like twigs, afraid to say Physically NOT up to it

He got an assist tonight and apparently was "our best performer" (I should fucking hope so against Stoke's u21s!), so a new contract is surely only a formality now...
