The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I see we are "supposedly" switching our attention from a £20m proven premier league goalscorer, to a £15m kid who has never played a minute in any top division

Going back to the Vardy situation if he is going why is he delaying the decision?

Arsenal fans will not be too bothered, just move on to the next target

can understand from Leicester viewpoint, gives them time to sign someone else, does not make sense

Ospina again proving why if he is sold, it should be for a proper fee. Im talking around 15m. He is only 27, and the only reason he is our number 2 is because we have Cech.

Some of the fees quoted for him are a joke. The lastest rumours are for 3m to Besiktas. I just dont get it on two fronts. One, why is it only Besiktas after him? And two, 3m is a joke of a fee. Its about 5 times as less than what he is actually worth.

We signed Cech because he didnt want to be number two. For that reason I would never keep a number 2 keeper at the club against his will. But for 3m, Ospina can stay where he is.

I knew Wenger should have used all his financial acumen and bid £20,000,001 - That extra £1 would have made all the difference.

I'm sorry but, WHO is this Guy ?? :? :?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... ico-madrid

I especially like this quote from his agent -

“We did have a meeting with the leadership of FC Barcelona in the last few weeks. There is an interest,” Yvan Le Mée told Le10 sport. “Now the reflection is whether Sofiane Boufal will go to Barcelona to compete with MSN (Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar) or should he go to a club where he is going to start matches and express his exceptional talent"

He couldn't be suggesting that he would start ahead of olly and wally is he ? :?

Vardy not looking likely now, which only cranks up the fan expectation to sign an equivalent. I suppose you can't blame Arsenal for meeting the clause and testing the water, but in a way the Club has really shot itself in the foot now if we miss out on this one and lose Mikhtaryan to Manchester United.

Vardy hasn't looked likely for almost two weeks now and yet some have suggested that we should wait until the euros are over before we write him off  When The Arsenal comes calling, the player either jumps at the chance of joining us or he has no interest in joining us - the mere suggestion that a player from Leicester needs time to decide if he wants to join us is laughable, and the suggestion that we should be hanging on for that player is shocking and a little bit embarrassing  I am saying all this but am also saying that I would have been happy for us to sign vardy so it isn't as if I don't rate him - what I am saying is that we should have pulled the plug on this deal by now.

I know that this is an old chesnut, and I know that many still disagree with me on it, but really the club should be stepping in and stopping wenger from doing his pundit job until after he has taken care of business for us :x People say that nothing will happen until after the euros and no player will discuss transfers until after they are knocked out, but what about all the players that are not at the euro's ? We have long been linked with the Armenian guy from Dortmund and he isn't at the euro's, and he is one of thousands - maybe instead of coining it in for French tv, wenker should have been making moves to sign the Armenian and got the deal done whilst the clubs with new managers were sorting out other things ? How many of you expect wenger to sign more players from the euro's ? I know that I don't cos I'm expecting to see him hit the African market or some shit European club/league  If that is the case then why wait to get these deals done ? Is it possible that this is his way of saying, "if you (gazidas) want to decide who we sign, then you go do the deals whilst I do other things" ?

Who knows what the situation is, but most of us never expected him to bring in the quality players that we need anyway, but there is just 5 weeks from the end of euro 2016 to the first weekend of the premier league
