As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I'm sure theres a laughing villain and claret member, maybe even an avfc forever on their forums going on about how well villa did to keep it to 5 the other week and saying "hull is a difficult place to go"
"We'd won our important game this week, the 3-1 at Arsenal".

Lambert had no money to spend, he only spent that £24m on Darren Bent and gave Delph £60k a week! Lambert needs time, he's just 2-3 players away from greatness. Protesting fans have no impact so those fans should keep them banners at home!
You sure you're not talking about Arsenal and Wenger?

As you know ive never been a fan, but unless he is played purely in a central "free" role he creates many more problems than in solves. He doesn’t stay in his channels - drifting inside where there is no chance of getting the ball / unlikely he will get it, he doesn’t protect the full back, he doesn’t work, he exposes the full backs and draws cockles (or whoever is in that role) out to his wing to cover the enourmous spaces he has left.
It was obvious in the opening 10 minutes Leicester were exposing Bellerin because he had no protection, the whole team became lop-sided.
Sure he scores goals, but is that enough? Im not sure it is when the rest of the team have to do so much extra work for him. He was qualities, but is he worth in he position as one of our top earners?
His contract will be an issue soon, I can see him leaving for a big fee in the summer and I don’t think that would be the worst thing in the world to happen
He has end product; something no one else in our squad has bar Sanchez.
He is also our most dynamic player off the ball and unlike our other shirkers actually turns up in the big games. We're a much better team with him in the side.
Besides, who else would you want on the right? Chamberlain is a good alternative but he has fu*k all end product - Walcott has already scored more goals than him even though he's been back for about two minutes.

Problem with that argument is that bent signed for villa in january 2011 and lambert only became villa manager in june 2012

Simply brilliant in your analysis
Great. Well done. I've an idea. Why don't you tell us what else he has? Or is your posting limited to quoting one liners out of context and childish sniping at other posters?

I know mate. It's a pisstake of the AKBs who claim that Wenger "brought Bergkamp" to Arsenal (seriously loads of under-25 Gooners genuinely say this!)

Ikechukwu1 wrote:The hilarious point absolutely no one here is mentioning: if one of Everton (unlikely but possible), Liverpool (highly possible) or Spuds (again highly possible) win the Europa League, then 4th place becomes hilariously redundant, as the EL winners will be allocated the extra CL place as of this year (4th place goes to the Europa).
That's actually not the case.
For the CL 2015/16 UEFA have decided, in their wisdom, to allow 5 teams from the same association.
Gianni Infantino, General Secretary: UEFA wrote: The maximum number of teams per association in the UCL group stage will be increased to five in cases where the UCL or UEL titleholders do not also qualify for the UCL group stage via it's domestic league.
True. Except we are in the 2014/15 season and the 5 competitors rule comes in effect after the winner of the 2015/16 competition is declared (ie you can get 5 teams in the 2016/17 season - you can't next season)
Nope, it's from the start of next season.
Gianni Infantino, General Secretary: UEFA wrote:At it's meetings on 22nd May and 19th September 2013, the UEFA Executive Committee discussed and approved the proposed changes and the new structure of the UEFA club competitions for the new cycle. The agreed modifications, which will particularly enhance the profile of the UEL, will kick in as of the 2015/16 season, and will be valid for a cycle of at least three years (2015-18 cycle).
You know you've just contradicted yourself and proved him right don't you.
I haven't.
It's a bit confusing, but there are 5 sides from one country allowed into the CL next season, so if we get 4th this season we will still qualify, even if Liverpool, or Everton, or THFC win the Europa League.

Ike/baba tries a new subtle approach and unsurprisingly confuses the world.
rodders999 wrote:Won't we automatically qualify as holders?
Either that way or under the little known rule T.O.1.A.W which states that "any team that has qualified from the Group Stage on more than 15 consecutive occasions automatically qualifies"
