As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'd choose the former without hesitation.
Which would Wenger choose I wonder?
Personally I would rather have 8th and the fa cup No europa league shite and am interested to see how no european football would affect season ticket prices

Same here.
All this "Top 4 place" rubbish perpetuated by SlySports, our Board, and Arsene - it just gives me the shits.
Seriously, WTF?
Football is about winning trophies. Sure, you won't win a trophy every year, but anyone that would rather win nothing and finish in the top 4 so the team can be knocked out of a shit bloated CL the following season is an idiot in my eyes tbh.
I'd rather finish 10th and win the FA cup than finish 2nd and win nothing. There are no runners-up, there are just winners and losers.

This. All that "Glory Glory Hallelujah 4th place" is fucking sick.

As has been posted somewhere else the crazy finances mean that theres less income to the club (Directly) when winning the FA cup and 6th compared to "achieving" 4th place. Mad and wrong, but thats how it is.
Personally I wouldnt mind ending one above the relegation trio and winning the cup (Though S**rs will have the relegated that way )
We all know the Inept one is going nowhere - so if we can win a trophy or two before he does fuck off - even if it means finishing outside the hallowed top 6 - that's fine with me - it also means no CL money which just may (slightly) hasten wenker's departure - so win win.
Don’t for one minute think Wenger would ever jeopardise fourth place over the FA Cup. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a weakened team in Salford so he can ‘concentrate’ on his desperate grab for the virtual trophy and our usual tragi-comic attempt to win the CL.
Our whole club it seems is geared just to attain the bare minimum.

Agree with every word mate.
Sky' Sports has been an overwhelmingly detrimental influence on football over the last 20 years but they talk as though they've rescued the game by re-inventing it. Their race for the top 4 hype is as embarrassing as it is depressing but they have to try and contrive some excitement because the race for the title has been excruciatingly dull for years.
With Sky its all about selling a product. That's why they have to overrate every little thing that happens. For example, a team comes back from 2-0 down results in high pitched screeching from the likes of Tyler, Neville etc. along the lines of : ''only in the Premier League'' / ''what a crazy league this is'' / ''this is why the Premier League is the loved all over the world'' .
And apologies for going off topic but I caught some German football last night on TV. It was showing the goals from Munich 8 v 0 Hamburg. Apparently it is the biggest win in Bundesliga history. And who was the familiar figure at the centre of the hapless Hamburg defence? Yes it was none other than Arsenal legend Johan Djourou

Djourou - the man, the legend, the 8 goal Albatross around his neck!
We already have our own 8 goal albatross around the collective Arsenal neck - after being raped at old fartford - Imagine if he had been at the heart of our defence - It may have been 16 - 2 !

Oh jayzuss I feel ill thinking about it.
Don't forget he did play in the 4-4 at Newcastle..so he has "experienced" an eight goal game....
Sky has had too much influence over football, but more worryingly it has created a culture of bufoonism among those that buy into the Sky experience. The trend for watching games in a pub was born in Oierland in 1990 for the World Cup.. Anyone on here from Ireland who remembers that time will know that football was secondary to the binge drinking.
When Sky came along in 1992 the platform for the mouthy superfan was established. Shout and roar at big screens as greedy publicans counted the coins in the name of hospitality. Call the players by their nicknames while shouting at the big screen. That gave credibility to the superfan. Yet what have Sky and their influence done ? I think they have alienated football supporters and the new deal will make that an even bigger divide. saw a quote that Sky have created a monster that will eat itself. They may believe they created a "sport" or more accurately recreated it , but in fact they have created a product. This deal could kill football, if it does watch the Russians and Arabs and Yanks head for the hills.

As fans, we would always chose winning a trophy. the fantastic day out at Wembley and a day or two celebrating (inc trophy parade)
However, the club (and Wenker) would always give priority to the £30m fund that qualification for the champs league provides (not to mention the bonus it gives to Wenker) as it gives them the excuse to keep ticket prices high, it scares fans into renewing just in case by chance we did manage to progress and on and on it goes.
