The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Season tickets have been renewed , why spend at all ?
If Rosicky had stayed fit through this Euro's we would have extended his contract ,
Wilshere is lunging in left right and center won't surprise me to see him a crock again very soon !
Our window is done I think unless we can offload Bambi Walcott !

Do you think that scouting team we have that works so hard to sign players might tell Wenger that Morata is turning it on in the big games and could be a viable purchase for the future?
Re: Is it time for a Summer Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Victor is a steal at 11m , they already have Dier and Dembele somstrength in depth when we don't .
I think you will see two, signings , one midfielder , one defender , no one big , we just aren't the draw anymore.

You have to think it is all down to wenger and his loss of status

If his price has rocketed like the media suggest, then I would favour letting him sit on real madrid's bench next season. The latest rumours are suggesting that real madrid are contemplating keeping him after his recent performances, or might consider selling him for around €75m - they are having a f.ucking laff if they think that he is worth half that

Morata fucking makes Giroud look prolific
Why don't we go for Icardi?

seems to be linked to a left back not really the most urgent requirement....still he has been in football over 30 years i suppose

at that price Lukaku would be a better option, although something i don't like about that guy....seems to drift out of some games

Yeah, he is in that group of average PL strikers. But whereas one might argue that Giroud is in the upper echelons of those average strikers (on a good day), I'd say Lukaku is in the lower echelons of average PL strikers.Redarmy wrote:augie wrote:Midz wrote:Do you think that scouting team we have that works so hard to sign players might tell Wenger that Morata is turning it on in the big games and could be a viable purchase for the future?

Sort of agree with that, Giroud is effective if you play to his strengths, a winger supplying crosses for example, even corner kicks which pass the first man would be good....his heading and flicks near goal are good....BUT of course we don't do that we ask him to chase around trying to make chances from slow build up play...no good at thatDB10GOONER wrote:Yeah, he is in that group of average PL strikers. Lukaku is more mobile and all round more effective IMO...BUT only when the mood takes him...under Wenger would think he will do the minimum to get by
A lot of the issues always return at Wengers door and will not change until he goes

We ask Giroud not to look skywards with his tongue sticking out, thinking to himself, "Why me God, why do you torture me with these unlucky misses and poor touches, with my lazy attitude and poor positional sense. WHY?"

Oh yeah his attitude is something else...all about ME....seen these antics at around 10 minutes into game.....
On that basis alone i would move him on

Higuaín and Vargas are having a ball at the Copa America. Just a thought...

Sorry but arsene is busy sitting on his arse at the euro's - would they mind waiting another month or so for him to get back to the job he is getting paid £8m per season for ?

We play a 4-5-1 system that (more than any other team I know) requires a world class striker who is a goal scorer, will link up play and in fact have just about every attribute a striker can have.
To gear the whole team up to a system which needs such a top drawer forward and then have a bumbling carthorse like Giroud in that lone striker role and protect him from any competition there for four seasons is the worst case of Wenger's ego and misplaced loyalty overriding the needs of the team and the club.
Would be interested to see how Vardy would fare (although he would be employed on the wing half the time) but he wouldn't be anywhere near as good as van Persie was for us as he isn't half as complete a forward. Apart from great aerial ability van Persie had it all, and having watched him drag the worst Arsenal side in decades through an entire season it is astounding that Wenger has managed to grossly undervalue the importance of the striker in our predictable system.
