Arsenal or Spurs to beat West Ham to £15m transfer target?
Arsenal and Spurs are ready to bid for £15m-rated Luis Jiménez, according to reports from Italy.

The Inter Milan attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with West Ham, but the east London club may lack the finances to complete the deal.

The 24-year-old Chile international moved to Lazio for €11m two years ago, but his market value has increased a little since then.

projoe wrote:EXCLUSIVE: Hot shot Edin Dzeko snubs Arsenal and Manchester City to push for dream move to AC Milan
Arsenal's hopes of landing top target Edin Dzeko have been dashed after the 23-year-old striker made it clear he would either be joining AC Milan or remaining with Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg.

Manager Arsene Wenger sees the powerful frontrunner as the cutting edge his side have been lacking, while Manchester City have also been alerted to a record of 26 goals from 32 Bundesliga appearances last season and added him to their list of attacking targets, alongside Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o.

But a move to the Barclays Premier League appears to be out of the question after Wolfsburg braced themselves for a straight fight with AC Milan for his services.

Sportsmail can reveal that Dzeko's agent Irfan Redzepagic held talks with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani in the Bosnia marksman's home city of Sarajevo over the weekend.

Mindful that Dzeko would take little persuading to sign for Milan, after supporting them as a youngster and recently admitting a wish to play in Serie A, Galliani will attempt to push through a £15million deal to take him to the San Siro.

It is certain to meet with stern resistance at the Volkswagen Arena, though, after chairman Hans-Dieter Potsch reiterated Wolfsburg's determination to hang on to their prize asset and again stressed that, with the backing of the German car giants who own them, they have no need to sell.

Dzeko, who has also been linked to Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Portsmouth in recent weeks, seemed to be pinning his hopes on a move to Milan, saying: 'They have always been my favourite club, right back to my days as a small boy, growing up in Sarajevo.'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... Milan.html

so now what are we going to do, keep greedybayor, lets hope not. what other striker is available?

eto'o = no chance
santa cruz = rubbish
villa = no chance
crouch = rubbish
Dzeko is a very good striker, but very much a type like Eduardo - so I don´t we need him that much. The money we get for Greedyasshole should be invested for a center back - Hangeland...?

ARSENAL WILL LET GALLAS GO
Arsene Wenger is ready to offload William Gallas after the arrival of £11m Thomas Vermaelen.

The Arsenal boss will tie up Ajax's 23-year-old Belgian defender on a fouryear deal this week, as first revealed in Mirror Sport last month.

That has alerted Juventus and AC Milan who want 32year-old Gallas (above), the former Arsenal skipper.

Upson puts up sale sign
MATTHEW UPSON could be on his way out of West Ham after putting his house up for sale.

The England centre-back admitted in yesterday's SunSport that he is desperate for European football so he can press his claim for a spot in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad next year.

His country mansion in Essex is being marketed by leading estate agents and is understood to be worth in the region of £2million.

Upson insists his chances of making the final 23-man squad for South Africa 2010 will receive a significant boost by playing in the Champions League, like rivals John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.

Liverpool have been long-time admirers of the tough-tackling defender, who is one of only a handful of naturally left-footed centre-backs in the Premier League.

It is also understood that Upson has the same advisor as Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard - his international team-mate.

Upson, 30, has two years remaining on his contract with the Hammers and manager Gianfranco Zola is keen to tie him down on a longer deal.

The Icelandic group now in control of West Ham insist funds will be made available to Zola for new players but they also admit the club must also generate its own funds by selling players.

Upson is in line to take over the captaincy from defender Lucas Neill whose contract has expired after the Australian refused offers of a new deal with reduced wages.

Neill is on international duty with the Aussies but Manchester City are heading the queue to sign the full-back when he returns to England.

why would you put your house up for sale without being sure where your going to be next, maybe weve already been working on this deal, or another club has

- Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is chasing Barcelona's unhappy midfielder Yaya Toure.

The Ivory Coast star's agent Dimitri Seluk revealed the Spanish champions had refused to break their wage structure to meet Toure's demand for a 15 per cent pay rise.

And The Sun says Arsenal are lining up a £15m bid for the defensive midfielder - who can also play at the back - but they face stiff competition from both Inter and AC Milan.

Can't imagine barca's pay structure being a problem can you? He can't be on anywhere near the money of the top earners there? Lazy Journo's
