The US Martin BORED Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Martin - firstly the Lady is Pat Butcher (Frank Butcher's wife in Eastenders.) She is what is known as a stunner.

Secondly, when I first signed up to the forum I was surprised at how juvenile a lot of the chat was. 90% of it is not even Arsenal-related, but just seems to be a love-in between those members who have nothing better to do than to use the Forum 24/7. (You will notice that I work office hours, so I rarely post during the day). Whilst I intiially felt inclined to stir some shit, just to object to the status quo, now I see the forum for what it is....

Having a laugh, and some light-hearted banter.

You can't change this forum - there are too many like-minded people here. So you either go with the flow, or keep swimming against the tide. It's hard for you to adapt, but I suggest you be the bigger man and either adapt or withdraw gracefully.

See that's the thing I'm not out to change the forum one iota really.

The only real issue I have with how the Forum operates is this concept that you can have waht appear tpo be absolutely serious discussions of ansolutely serious issues affecting Arsenal as a Corporation , a Football Club, and as a football team but limit the scope of those discussions and the causes that can be discussed. I mean that sounds like it would be the praada.com board to be honest. Imean that sounds like the North Korean National Team's message Board, where you can't post about any results that Morth Korea doesn't win.

But if people like it that way, fine. I'll open my own threads on the same things and people who are of the mind to discuss the issues on a more reasoned or broader scale can. Of course you know that certain peopl won't be satisfied with that, and maybe it's time people called them out. Maybe they need to be better men too. I can only control what I choose to do

Oh and thank you for the information on Mrs. Butcher. Can't tell from the pic if she's a stuuner mayself but I'll take your word on that one

You're a decent fella when you're not ranting and raving. Lighten up a little, enjoy the banter more, and lets try and disperse this storm cloud that's been hanging over the forum for some time now.

I'm not saying it's your fault, as obviously you get a fair bit of stick - but you can put a stop to it very easily by ending the petty fueds, ignoring the baiting, and lightening up a little.

This place doesn't have to be a warzone - and to be honest, i'm just sick of it now. It's gone on too long and it's stupid.

We're all grown ups - so lets all give it a rest and move on, eh?!
Yes be a good little colored boy and stop agaitain and makin trouble.
Martin,

You and I have had a couple of exchanges in the past, and though it must be said that I hold you in high regard, I'm afraid that this turn of phrase/comparison was just cringe worthy. Although I don't need to point out the difference between which business model is used to run a football club by and the civil rights movement, you should keep in mind that you, as far as I can see it, are discrediting yourself hugely with such bizarre statements.

I don't think you're a wind-up merchant and I do honestly believe that you're genuine in what you're striving to achieve. However, what all successful politicians (with perhaps the exception of GWB and Gordon Brown) have in common is charisma - a way of making people who can't relate with them, relate with them. It seems to me that if you're trying to win people over, you're going about it in completely the wrong way.

Moreover, lately you seem more concerned with petty feuds than trying to win people over. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing - or how best to get your point across - merely suggesting that you might want to reconsider your approach. It's no good asking complete strangers to sign a petition just because they're Gooners, too. Most of the users of this forum are only here for the craic, banter and occasional tit thread. That doesn't, however, mean that they should be disregarded. On the contrary. No campaign can be successful without the support of the majority - and while you're swimming against the current of the majority, you're on a hiding to nothing.

I've begun to ramble, so I'll stop it there. Please feel free to take on board (heh) or disregard any of this at your leisure :barscarf: 8)

I feel I should just clarify to USMartin that he seems to continuously mistake the general response to his posts as a reticence by members here to discuss certain issues regarding the board. It isn't. It's not a problem to discuss the board. It's not the subject matter most object to, it is the actual content.

The main problem Martin is that you repeat yourself continuously and in very long winded posts. You make your point (often very well) but then you go on to repeat that point over and over (mostly using the same wording) on page after page of the same thread, then repeat it over and over on other threads.

It is overkill and as people tend to read something, assess the info and reply or move on, they then feel it is a bit patronising and even insulting to have it thrown at them again and again. You must accept that most people lose interest when the info is repeated ad infinitum.

You have made your point about the board. Everyone is aware of it. You haven't added anything new or interesting on that subject for weeks now. I think you should drop it to a certain extent and move on, post about other aspects of the club that interest or concern you.

You must now face the simple fact that you cannot realistically take your argument any further on this forum. It is exhausted. It has run its course, mate.

Anyway why instead of trying speak for Babu who can certainly speak for himslef and is a really decent bloke check wirth babu about the incidents you publicized knowing all the details to presonally discredit me and more importantly my views. Be and man and check that with him because he knows all about it icluding the stuff with Judith Gleiber.

Show some balls and prove what you said that proved about me was correct or have even more balls and after you talk to Babu issue an apology to me on the forum.

If you don't I'll have Babu do It.
I think I may have missed something here, USMartin. Sorry, but I'm guessing it was something to do with my last visit, and then I guess with the SGF.

Well, if I knew what it was about then I would certainly give my view of things, as I know a bit about what happened on the other forum.

BTW, thanks for saying that I'm a decent bloke.

BY the same token Quartz check in with Babu and see if he thinks I am a troll or a takeover stooge or not a Gooner or whatecver new theory you want to test.
Regarding this I will certainly stand up for USMartin against anyone who thinks he is a troll or a takeover stooge or NOT a Gooner.

I have known USMartin for a long time, and he certainly is 100% Arsenal through and through, and most definitely not a troll.

First who's the lady in the avatar - just curious.
USMartin, you have really missed out. The lady is Pat Butcher...

Here's a quick youtube clip featuring Frank Butcher and Pat...

Ooooooh, new word :D

Although I must object to the second bit in bold. A massive part of expressing a good point is being concise. USM's posts are anything but, be it the sheer the length of post or the overly elaborative way he constructs most sentences.

Other then that, good post :high5:
