You're a decent fella when you're not ranting and raving. Lighten up a little, enjoy the banter more, and lets try and disperse this storm cloud that's been hanging over the forum for some time now.
I'm not saying it's your fault, as obviously you get a fair bit of stick - but you can put a stop to it very easily by ending the petty fueds, ignoring the baiting, and lightening up a little.
This place doesn't have to be a warzone - and to be honest, i'm just sick of it now. It's gone on too long and it's stupid.
We're all grown ups - so lets all give it a rest and move on, eh?!
Yes be a good little colored boy and stop agaitain and makin trouble.
Martin,
You and I have had a couple of exchanges in the past, and though it must be said that I hold you in high regard, I'm afraid that this turn of phrase/comparison was just cringe worthy. Although I don't need to point out the difference between which business model is used to run a football club by and the civil rights movement, you should keep in mind that you, as far as I can see it, are discrediting yourself hugely with such bizarre statements.
I don't think you're a wind-up merchant and I do honestly believe that you're genuine in what you're striving to achieve. However, what all successful politicians (with perhaps the exception of GWB and Gordon Brown) have in common is charisma - a way of making people who can't relate with them, relate with them. It seems to me that if you're trying to win people over, you're going about it in completely the wrong way.
Moreover, lately you seem more concerned with petty feuds than trying to win people over. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you what you should or shouldn't be doing - or how best to get your point across - merely suggesting that you might want to reconsider your approach. It's no good asking complete strangers to sign a petition just because they're Gooners, too. Most of the users of this forum are only here for the craic, banter and occasional tit thread. That doesn't, however, mean that they should be disregarded. On the contrary. No campaign can be successful without the support of the majority - and while you're swimming against the current of the majority, you're on a hiding to nothing.
I've begun to ramble, so I'll stop it there. Please feel free to take on board (heh) or disregard any of this at your leisure
