UFOs - yes or no?

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

history channel is amazing. UFOs, shows about dudes who sell relics and other shit, and in the few features they do about actual history, it's absurdly biased and innacurate.

i honestly think history channel is worse than MTV.
Current TV is the only decent documentary channel. 8)
not available here in brazil, i think. one of the things i had to cut off in order to be able to travel to england was cable TV, and to be perfectly honest with you, i don't miss a single thing. been watching footie matches by stream (or the odd visit to my mom's to watch the Arsenal when it's on ESPN HD) and movies and series i like i simply download in high definition anyway. gave my hdtv to my mom and now i don't even have a telly at home anymore (only the one I use as PC monitor).

cable porn sucks also - much easier to go to xvideos.com or redtube and simply type whatever i want to see  :barscarf:
You ought to have a look at "youporn" and "youjizz" 8)
You look at you own jizz!!

I was watching Stargazing last week and they said people dont realise the scale of space and how far we are from other galaxys etc for us to reach another solar system with current technology the journey would take something like 10,000 years (sounds a bit like the Travel Club but anyway) it makes it impossible for us to travel that far and therefore it makes the chances of any aliens reaching earth almost impossible too

Ah....but what about wormholes that provide "shortcuts" through time and space?

And what about space travel using the soul and not the body, which in theory has no weight or such minimal weight that it can travel huge distances in a short space of time?

By no means a cut and dried subject.

quartz, can you elaborate on the fighting in antartic caves? are u referring to highjump and the alledged british raid on new swabia?

you seem quite keen on this subject, i imagine you are into forteana...

if so do you have opinions on abc's?

Also Einstein and the "bible" of physics is about to be shot to bits.

The "nothing travels faster than light" credo is wrong. The new particle accelerator at Cerne(?) has recently shown that some sub-atomic particles travel faster than protons (light particles).

If this part of our understanding of physics is wrong, then it follows that many things are wrong.

Basically, we only know what we know. And some of what we "know" is total bollocks.

The human race, with our limited intelligence, has moved from horse and cart technology to supersonic and space travel in just a couple of hundred years.

Now, just imagine what could be acheived by some far off civilisation with one or two million years head start on us.

There is a ton of writing about the subject on the net, I read it from time to time but hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Seems that we went in to try and take out the German U Boats that were gathering there at the end of the war.
That much is straightforward.

But there are rumours that over 450 U Boats were there, which would have been enough to disrupt world shipping lanes for years.

And further rumours the Nazis had significant bases inside the caves, with machinery to maintain the U Boats.
And a plan to hide Hitler down there.

Beyond that, rumours that the Nazis had linked with aliens down there.

But as with all these things, who knows the real truth?

I am an occasional reader of the Fortean Time, and as for ABCs...I think there is nothing odd about them or inter-dimensional etc.

Just that there are cat species on the loose in the UK, which are not officially recognised, but are dangerous, and significantly larger than house cats.

Many physisists believe the findings at Cern were a mis-reading. Einstein made his theory of relativity over 100 years ago and it is still used today to calculate distances and gravity in space, which is incredible IMO when you think of the technology back then olgit (you must remember those days  )......

No one is 100% sure worm holes exist either Quartz so short cuts through space might be a figment of imagination.

All this said there is no evidence either way that aliens exist or have travelled to earth but even if they can travel 100 times faster than us (and it would take us 10,000 years to contact them) it still means the aliens would be travelling for 100 years which means they must have a massive lifespan :? not wrong but highly unlikely

interesting thing about highjump is why did Byrd recommend the US test A bombs there immediately.... to wipe out what operation highjump had uncovered in terms of nazi technology/nazi bases/alien connection? or to cover up the US's own activities on the continent?

i don't think we will ever know the truth, but the submarine issue is very plausible, as the nazis were so interested in antartica and also its connections to thule. that along with the fact senior nazi figures mentioned 'safe havens' etc.

there is a hell of a lot of information kept quiet after ww2, about all manner of odd things that happened, and what the nazi's developed, and i think its fairly certain that the allies covered a lot of this up for all manner of reasons.
Also i think with the advent of communism, there would have been a faustian pact with those nazi's that potentially were left over, be it in safe havens in s america or antartica, to join with the west against the ussr.
there are some who believe that they reached the moon and continue to live there, destroying certain apollo missions as they orbited!!!

as for abc's, interesting to know you have an opinion, i fully believe they are pyshical entities, and in my personal opinion, i have no doubt they exist from first hand experience, having seen a mother and 2 cubs, of what can only be described as a black panther (melanistic leaopard), cross my path no more than 10 metres in front of me, in bright sunshine in a remote combe in the quantock hills in somerset one summer, moving out of a confirous plantation, across the path into chest high bracken on the other side of the path, needless to say it scared the s*it out of me and my friends and we got off that trail fairly pronto...interesting that in following years we saw the remains of sheep in the same location (not un unusual site on wild moorland type land, but still collabarating with what we had seen before) also a friends father who lives in a remote part of essex (dengie area) upon letting his dog out of his back door one evening and wondering why it wouldnt go out, turned on his patio light and saw in full spotlight a leopard sized dark coloured feline sitting in his garden (a garden with no neighbours, surrounded by scrub and woodland shelter belts and fields). he promptly shut his door and phoned a gamekeeper friend to come around with his shotgun (even though with only birdshot ammunition that would have been the worst thing to do in shooting the thing as you would just p it off) however it didnt linger and slinked off.

Mantis:

The other thing about the Antartica fighting is that perhaps the Nazis were experementing with rockets there, the very same Nazis who were taken back to the USA and helped with the NASA missions? Perhaps the British and Americans wanted to stop any of that technology getting into Soviet hands?

Certainly many have speculated that the remnants of the German forces were close to being used by the Allies against the Soviets had tensions with escalated in summer of 1945.

The Moon thing is interesting too.

Who knows what the Apollo/Soviet Missions really found up there?

Rumours of alien mineral mines there, but seeing as how I have never been to the moon, how can I know!

What you say about ABCs and your experiences are amazing, but so common.
It is not at all implausible that some cats once escaped from a Zoo or Circus, or simply were living here anyway, and have bred.

Flash:

Physical transport through space could well take a very long time, but how about "Soul" transport.
Something akin to the film Contact?

And what if, as some suggest, the so called aliens, come from under the surface of our earth, not outer space?
It comes back to the Antartica missions, where it has been rumoured that the Nazis dug so deep under Antartica for their submarine bases, that they came into contact with a species living there.

I am not saying this is what happened, but I cannot 100% rule it out.

Some scientists think the Cern neutrino readings are wrong. Some do not.

Scientific theory has been proved wrong before. And will be proved wrong again.

Thing is that humans aren't intelligent enough to fully understand (or even recognise) everything that's going on in the universe.

If aliens are visiting us then it's obvious that they would be super intelligent, with abilities that we could only guess at.

Picture David Attenborough doing a programme about Lemmings (for example ). The lemmings might be aware of all the filming and sound equipment. Or they might not notice it. One thing is sure...they wouldn't have a clue about understanding what was going on. Or anything about the technology behind the equipment.(I'm drawing a comparison between levels of intelligence here. Don't take it personally )

Theories. It has been mathematically proven that there are more than three dimensions. There are at least seven  according to some. I can't get my head around this idea. I'm no Einstein (same age or not :-P ) . But if true then it has been postulated that switching between dimensions may be a possibility. And that speed and distance would therefor be of little consequence.

Who the fuck knows what is and isn't possible? Not me. I'm a lemming. :D

my personal experinces turned me from a sceptic in the whole 'beast of bodmin' saga to extremely interested in and an avid reader.

the bog standard media response is these cats were realeased when the 1976 dangerous animals act came in, meaning exotic pets had to be properly and securely housed, so due to the prohibitive cost, many who had these animals as status symbols (minor celebrities, local villains) or interesting attaracions (pub landlords) and amateur zoologists just released them rather than see them get destroyed, as there were not enough proper zoos to take them in.

this could contribute a small part, but it doesnt explain things like the surrey puma of the 60's and other older sightings. some speculate this is an indigenous relic species gone under the radar...unlikley, more likely is the fashion in the medieal up until victorian ages of travelling menageries. Without a proper road network the transport of these animals would have been deifficult and its not unrealistic to think there would have been many escapees, who could form an albeit small but breedable population.

the fact that the police and the forestry commission (whose acres and acres of conifer plantations are perfect hiding places) acknowledge these cats existence is telling. in the future it will become apparent to the wider public that these things are a reality.

as for aliens, im certian there must be intelligent life in the universe, whether it has reached here i dont know. but i think there is a lot of smoke, that must have some basis in fact surrounding the whole genre.

as for olgits lemmings analogy, very apt and appropriate, for all we know, we're in some massive intergalatic truman show and clouds are the chariots of the aliens as speculated by certain ancient philosophers!

we the general public simply dont know.

i think its widely acknowledged amongst reputable historians that had, the situation esclated with th soviets in the last days and immediate aftermath of ww2 then the remnants of the werhmacht would have joined the western allies to fight the soviets.

as for antartica, rocket development is another good theory tied in with the secret u boat pens, and the desire of the usa in particular to gain any knowledge they could of advanced technology, benefitting themselves and keeping it from britain and in particlular the soviets...apparently there are many unaccounted for nazi u boats as at the end of ww2.

the lunar theory goes that the germans got there in the early forties, and set up a base, and have apparently remained ever since, the first few usa and soviet space missions picked up warning signals from these nazis to turn back, and indeed some of the early missions were destroyed in space by some sort of moon ray from the 'moon nazis'!

The usa faked their landings and the russians faked their orbits, subsquently, through fear of attack on their space modules from the nazi moon base!

fanciful and nigh on unbeliveable stuff considering popular belief and history as we know it, unlikley, but not totally unplausible!

Couple of years ago I met a phd student who was doing his phd in "String Theory".

I can honestly tell you that the bloke gave off a vibe as if he had been thinking at 100% power all week, and it was twisting his brain into all kinds of shapes.
He really seemed as if what he had been studying had been testing his very sanity.

I showed me that there is a heck of lot still to understand and discover, and to think we know all about the universe is just not the case.

Einstein himself called Quantum Entanglement "Spooky".

No - totally implausible, I'm afraid. Both NASA and Kodak have explained away every single shit "theory" that the retard Moon conspiracy idiots have offered up.

Nazi rocket technology, whilst being well ahead of the Americans in 1945, was still in it's infancy. The failure rate of their V1 and V2 rockets (only trying to cross the Channel) was huge. It was very much a hit or miss technology. Accepted if they had had another 5 years and more natural resources who knows what they might have developed, but in 1945 it was basic stuff in comparison to what was needed to just escape our atmosphere, never mind go t the Moon.

It took the Nazi scientists' knowledge and the NASA scientists they joined's knowledge and another 25 years of constant, massively-funded work to put a man on the moon.
