Champions League Qualifiers

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

when do we find out who we get? I hope kazan because we've never won away in russia before and it would be a quality away day too :barscarf:

It would be good, flights are about £500 minimum though. Plus you need to get a visa when travelling to Russia I believe, so add another £100 for that. :lol:

Only about £700-800 in total then...for a qualifier.

Might be better to be at home first, especially has Nasri and van Persie banned for 1st leg, add the cesc situation to the pot and Europa league and Thursday nights here we come :banghead:

Personally I quite like the idea of Thursday night footie. At least it'd get me out of the weekly trip to Sainsburys!

Good point mate.

If Fabregas played in the qualifiers, would he be ruled out of the group stages for Barcelona?

Yep!

Dont think so - I believe somebody posted here last week that he can still sign for another club in the champs lge as long as that team aint in the same group as the team he has just left

Well I always thought that Champs Lge is Champs Lge and once you've played in it for one team then you're buggered, even if it's a quailfier but as always I may be wrong!

Meanwhile, Fabregas knows that if he turns out for the Gunners in the play-off and then moves to Barca, he will be cup tied for all of their European campaign

however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying
round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to
play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another
club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for
the group stage of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa
