Agreed. Perhaps the fact that we had an experienced international goalkeeper, the country's (and one of Europe's) best left backs, TH14, Super Bob, Sol, Reyes and Cesc - still some of the League's finest players. Amazing how we managed that playing at a 38000 capacity ground eh?

Exactly. Their main players back then were the cartwheeling pikey and Michael Carrick. Ours were the ones I mentioned above.

Now they have Bale, Modric, the selection of keepers you mention, 5 PL standard centre halves, Parker/Sandro...
