Jerry Nelson (July 10, 1934 – August 23, 2012) was an American puppeteer, best known for his work with The Muppets. Renowned for his wide range of characters and singing abilities, he performed Muppet characters on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and various Muppet movies and specials.
Félix Miélli Venerando (December 24, 1937 – August 24, 2012) was a football player from Brazil, more commonly known as Félix.
Félix was born in São Paulo. He was goalkeeper with Associação Portuguesa de Desportos and Fluminense Football Club. He has 47 caps (8 non-official) with the Brazilian national team, winning the Football World Cup 1970 with the team.
Joen Pauli Højgaard Ellefsen (April 20, 1936 – August 24, 2012) was a Faroese politician and member of the Union Party. He was Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands from 1981 to 1985.
Eduardo Koaik (August 21, 1926 – August 25, 2012) was the Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Piracicaba, Brazil. Ordained to the priesthood in 1950, Koaik was named bishop in 1973. He retired in 2002.
Aurélio Granada Escudeiro (May 19, 1920 – August 25, 2012) was a Portuguese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church.
Escudeiro was born in Alcains, Portugal and was ordained a priest on January 17, 1943. He was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Angra on March 18, 1974 as well as titular bishop of Drusiliana, and was ordained bishop on May 26, 1974. Escudeiro was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Angra on June 30, 1979, where he would serve until his retirement on April 9, 1996. He died on August 25, 2012 at the Casa Sacerdotal in Ponta Delgada.
Wisse Dekker (26 April 1924 – 25 August 2012) was a Dutch businessman. He was the CEO of Philips from 1982 to 1986. From 1988 until 1992 he was chairman of the European Round Table of Industrialists.
