Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
I thought the majority of Gooners DIDN'T want Usmanov...?
I think we should be campaigning for a Bundesliga based 51% fan ownership model
surely that (+ safe standing) could be a massive win for a political party...?

I'd say that might be questionable now - maybe many wouldnt be keen on usmanov as such but prefer to see him in control than kroenke and I believe that if fans were given only two options then usmanov would win more votes. Personally I was never against usmanov - morality went out of football a long long time ago and the touch of class we had went out of our club a long time ago too and all of that was down to greed so for me the main issue when considering potential owners is whether they have the ambitions and capability to make my club successful/competitive again and I mean on the pitch obviously

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
I'm against one person owning my (or to be honest any) football club
seems pretty clear to me a season ticket holders representative deserves a guaranteed seat on the board
we are a single irreplaceable customer *spits* base
when tescos buys from farms TESCO decides the price
Bundesliga is the model we should follow IMO - all clubs must be minimum 51% owned by fans

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
I agree with JD about fan ownership, and actively do not want Usmanov running Arsenal.
But I'll still be on the march as I don't see how R&W having a presence on the board will necessarily lead to them taking absolute control.

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
How would fans practically acquire 51% of the shares even if there were provisions? Buying that amount of shares at current value would run in several hundred million.
Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
Just read 2 great articles that could go on almost any thread here, but I chose this one. Apologies if they've been posted somewhere else. I've been away for a couple of days and haven't caught up on every thread.
First from our very own website.

Second from Arsenal Times

Its quite clear a lot of people have reached breaking point.

bundesliga ownership is a pipe dream we may want that it will never happen. in a choice of sausage fingers and wiggy, wiggy has proved hes a crunt and not interested in on pitch success. an other have a go now, be it usmanov, daffy duck, hugo chavez, anyone.

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
Usmanov is absolutely committed to fan representation and wider share ownership and will give all fans and season ticket holders this opportunity when he buys out Kroenke and he will.
I keep repeating from my original thread posting back in May, since when the Usmanov support has gradually increased, perhaps just as the only alternative to Kroenke, but so what, that happens every time we have an election in this country !
The amusing thing about the Wikepedia hoo ha the last 48 hours is that this amendment to the site took place 2 years ago so why now are the press digging it up when they have known for 2 years ? someone somewhere is trying to discredit him but its all a big joke.
Russian flags and banners on Dec 1st will put a big smile on Usmanovs face thats for sure and whatever happens i cant see the Star Spangle banner being waved

Excuse me? He buys out Kroenke... then sells to the fans?georgeknows89 wrote:Usmanov is absolutely committed to fan representation and wider share ownership and will give all fans and season ticket holders this opportunity when he buys out Kroenke and he will.
Seriously??
That's simultaneously nonsensical and fricking hilarious.
Will I get a unicorn? Can we sign Maradonna from when he's 16 too?
Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
Here lies the problem that the BSM have in organising anything .
Loads of people with different agenda's .
I applaud their moves towards trying to get the fans a better deal but calling for the resignation of the duffer that is hillwood ,and allowing usmanov a seat on the board are not my personal goals.
What is more they are completely unobtainable in the current climate.
Hillwood CANNOT be removed from being Chairman ,when he sold his shares they came with the caveat that he remains the Chairman for life.
He has always treated fans with contempt so his recent outrages fit right into the general pattern of behavior stretching back to when his father was alive.
Further at the behest of Officer Kroenke the FA have changed the rules requiring disclosure to minority shareholders which raised some eyebrows but it is clear that they don't want anyone poking their noses in .
Stan is unlikely to sell to Usmanov unless he makes megabucks from the deal, and I'm not sure the Russian will go that extra mile .
Stan will be cautious in completely alienating the fans by taking dividends immediately but i do believe he will plunder the Piggy Bank one day .
We are in limbo and will remain there for the foreseeable future I fear so expect no big changes in policy until there is more widespread unrest .
In the meantime good luck but the campaign just doesn't have the required impetus yet because the fans are so divided about what they want ,what they really really want .
Meantime I see Manchester Utd are managing their debt very nicely nowadays, maybe those old yellow and green scarves can be put away !

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
Highbury JD- keep a note of this thread and frame it mate, i promise you that if Red & White obtain ownership ( sorry , i mean when they do, and they will ) they will try and embrace the fans in ownership in some format.
Look at AST- they own 3 fukin shares out of 62,219 and have diluted them into a pittance - it is not hard for Red & White to allocate a meaningless in % but high in number share amount but yes lets be clear, anyone owning any company will always have to get and retain 75% and can then do whatever they want with the club.
Piers Morgan owns 9 shares,3 times as many as the AST so what , it is all irrelevant really, whoever is the owner but the point is about communication and feedback and listening to the fans which I know they are prepared to do and want to do.
Herd- to a degree you are right and i have already stated that for the fans to be heard and this march to succeed then it needs to be promoted as being organised by BSM for fans rather than being a 'BSM GATHERING' -quoting the thread heading which to me is a disaster- it is a disgruntled fans gathering wanting change organised by 1 of the fan groups and will succeed better presented as such but with BSM clearly deserving the plaudits and pats on the back.
If say 500 attended the last march/protest and 1000-1500 attend this time then it is progress.Whatever direction fans are pulling in, whether AST, RedAction,AISA, BSM, Herd all are agreed that the existing model of ownership/management /FFP saving us dream IS NOT WORKING and at the moment unless a chinese trillionaire appears and buys them both out then Red & White appears the best alternative at present.
If we all had a degree in hindsight we would all be very rich and who knows what would happen if R & W gained control , but everyone was led up a dodgy garden path to be convinced that Stan was the man..........
The point you made about the FA and disclosure changing etc to stop R & W getting a seat on the board will be dealt with once he passes the 30% mark very soon.
Widespread unrest can only come about by poor performances ( which are increasing ) and good legal protesting in whatever format we all can do. All fan groups and their organisers /representatives have their own agenda and to a degree many will also what to be the big 'i am' 'i did this' etc but as long as we all generally pull together in the same direction for change then this can only be good for our beloved AFC

I see this morning that of the £ 140 million raised on the American stock raising exercise about 50% went directly to the Glazers following the £ 20 million the family took out in consultancy fees. This why I favour a duopoly on the board to prevent this sort of thing happening on the quiet.

Re: BSM Gathering before Swansea
Just a question georgeknows89, I have read quite a few of your posts regarding Usmanov and you always seem to be "in the know" like you have heard it from the horses mouth. This isnt meant to be offensive just genuinely wanted to know is this FACT or your opinions???georgeknows89 wrote:Usmanov is absolutely committed to fan representation and wider share ownership and will give all fans and season ticket holders this opportunity when he buys out Kroenke and he will.

Anyway I am new hear but read every day. Would have been attending the Swansea game but couldnt justify the price of a back row ticket in the upper. Would have definatly attended the march if I was going to the game I have had enough with groundhog season!
