EVERTON AWAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Came up with this in the second half:

To the tune of Lady Jane by The Rolling Stones;

My sweet Leighton Baines,
Your crosses win games,
Your sideburns and stache,
Make you look quite gay

You're better then Cashly,
And not a gay batty,
I wish Arsenal'd sign Leighton Baines

We have the back 4 to thank for that point because frankly the rest of the team didn't deserve a thing.

Gibbs and Vermaelen stand out performers. Entire midfield MIA, Cazorla's worst game in an Arsenal shirt by far. Giroud feeding off scraps. Ramsey pure shite, sorry this aint playground football, you can't just take 3 touches of the ball every time it comes to you it kills our attacks before they even begin. I get it that he's low on confidence but its time for him to show some balls if he wants an Arsenal career.

Away point at Everton well earned, however we looked like we could or would let one in at any moment .
The amount of times we just passed it to them in midfield was shocking !

My god, the quality of football really is now at a level with watching England. I go into every game hoping for better, hoping for a reaction, there's a 20 minute spell that looks promising, score a goal, and then watch 70 minutes of the most boring, sideways crap before giving the ball away carelessly and giving away a clear scoring chance at the other end. The substitutions are just as mind numbing as well - young Francis Coquelin for his customary 3 minute cameo, the utterly, utterly shite forehead introduced for one of our 'jaded' new signings.

The best bit is that we've got the old fashioned English carthorse centre-forward up top as well - fuck me if that wasn't a modern day Kerry Dixon or Mark Hateley lumbering around up there tonight. Now I'm sure my old mate Daryl and the rest of Le Chapman's fan club will be along to defend him but please on this one occasion do not come up with the throwaway line that 'he put in a decent shift'.......err, no he fucking did not. I watched our new goalscoring machine intently tonight, hiding behind the centre half when the chance of a through ball was on, falling over in possession on countless occasions, flick ons to non existent strike partners, balls bouncing off his shins with customary grace and the crowning glory comedy moment when he finally got into a goalscoring position of whacking it into his own face whilst off balance. There will be other days when you get to have your Giroud love-in moments on his way to the grand total of 10-12 league goals, but in big away games the fella will continue to prove what he undoubtedly is - an average, old fashioned target man. Still, at least he reminds me of how much I liked the green and blue away kit vintage of 82/83

Agreed. Worst case scenario the next time Turnip takes us to Goodison in the league.....it will be his last time doing so.

Roll on 2014 :barscarf:

No tactical sub til the 80th minute, Gervinho on instead of Ox, another goal gifted to drop points. Joke.

2 goals up at home to Fulham.......draw 3-3
Need a red card to get in the game against biggest rivals at home.
Draw at villa where nothing was created.

No way arsenal get in the top 4 right now. Can only imagine if Walcott and Sagna both get sold in January and replaced with championship level players or shitbums like Santos, we will finish 7th or 8th.

Feel bad for Chamberlain, he would probably be a hell of a player right now under Ferguson.

Thought Ramsey was better out wide than Ramsey in the middle, though there is a real lack of confidence about him despite him working hard.
Theo on the left was not bad, I like the way he cuts in. No way the time to sell him, he is one of our better players right now.
Giroud is not nearly as bad as some have said, he gets in the right positions.

But....

Something is missing.

Think one of our deep midfielders should try to get forward more to join attacks.
Without this we are reduced to running into space, rather than making space.
The game dictates us, rather than vice versa.

Why's that Rodders? So you can say there's only 3 more Arsene years left?

Take it like a man.....come to my summer celebration BBQ with the Away Boyz and get us in to the swing with "There's Only One Arsene Wenger"

Relax. Next 4 or 5 games till the game against Newcastle should be quite easy.
Well maybe the game against Newcastle won't be as hard as the game against Swansea

It was an entertaining match. End to end stuff. Probably a fair result.

Top marks to the referee. He got 99% of decisions right. And he let the game flow. A refreshing change from the Man Utd supporting twats that we see all too much of.

I thought the players gave handbrake though we lacked a little bit the spirit.
Overall you could see they were alzheimers from the illusory domination of the sharpness in the final third.
