I think Podolski has "Economy of Effort".
It is not a slight on him, I jut think he is an experienced player at the top level, and knows when to run and when not to, especially as he was carrying an ankle injury second half of last season.
He is not Parlour or Flamini, running about like a wind up toy.

He can also put the ball in the net. Good finishes yesterday.

Oh please. He's been saying this for the last 3 seasons, even when we still had fabregas and van judas it was all about how "spurs have the stronger squad"

If we keep going the way we are then like a stopped clock and all that eventually he'll be right but its not because he's got a fucking scooby about anything. Tbh if I were him I'd show a bit of humility about these shit predictions every year.

By the "oh please" are you saying that he is wrong this season then ? I mean I didn't comment on what he said for the last few years but what I actually said was that he isn't wrong in what he is saying about our squad as it currently stands

Mrs SteveO commented on what a sour faced old *word censored* he looked last night and his body language after the highlights of our game were appalling. We might well have played 2 weak teams......unlike Spurs who have played the mighty Crystal Palace (1-0 penalty) and bottom of the form table (last 10 games) Swansea (1-0 penalty)

What a *word censored* the tax dodging old wanker is. Every year - if they don't sign a few players they are in trouble. Trouble for us is finishing a distant 4th but still above your beloved Tottingham wankers......and this season we'll still manage it despite the Self Harmer's best efforts

He is a very smart footballer with loads if experience and you can tell he genuinely enjoys himself - I think he's fantastic.

I liked the way Johl congratulated Wenger after the game - if you didn't know you would have thought the result was the opposite given their respective countenances.

A good win. Yeah Fulham aren't great but neither are Villa and we managed to fuck that up! We looked sharper and hungrier against Fulham and we were far more effective with the ball in midfield. This might sound mental but I think Jack not being in there helped Santi. I rate Jack and think he has huge potential but when him and Santi are in there together Santi seems limited somehow. And in all honesty Jack was pretty poor when he came on.

On Saturday Santi was prowling around and placing sweet passes everywhere. I know Ramsey got man of the match (and in fairness he played very well again) but I thought Santi deserved it more tbh. Also a little worrying that Ramsey still feels the need to try the stupid flicks and tricks. It's like he has settled and plays well, does the simple things, and then starts to think he's Messi and then reverts back to the flash shit that fails. If he could just keep it simple for 90 minutes he would be so much better.

Podolski again proved he is the best most natural finisher at the club. I honestly believe if he was played up front as part of the 2 in a 4-4-2 he'd hit 20+ PL goals this season. I accept he's not a runner but then a finisher is seldom a runner. He just needs someone to put the ball to his feet anywhere within 20 yards of goal and let him finish. He's not lazy - just clever and experienced.

Also thought Giroud played well. Very good finish and quick instincts after a nice bit of luck with the ball hitting him - his quick reaction and finish was good to see. He also has a pass in him. But this playing him as a lone striker is just ridiculous. He hasn't the pace to play that role if we sit deep and look at him to run in behind, and he has no one to lay off to (most of the time) if we sit play it long in the air. I think he'd be far more effective in a 4-4-2.
