AW culpable from the start. Playing Santi wide, even when he's on form, is a mistake. On his current form it's suicide. He kept losing the ball and did little going forward. He should be a great defender given the amount of time he spends watching his team-mates doing his defending for him, but he was typically weak.

Ozil was poor yet again and Arteta little better. I thought the back four were good, but were exposed too often when we lost the ball in midfield. Flamini and Rosicky were decent.

Giroud worked hard but looked out on his feet by the end. Where was Theo? Napoli could press us all night because we couldn't threaten to get behind them.

It's a shame we can't play Manure next.

A typical Arsenal European night.

don't forget that we will sacrifice any further progress in the cup too in the off chance we could get through against the best tacticians and preparers in Europe.

That second half is the poorest I have seen us since 1st half the vermin and most of the game v Dortmund. We were awful from Arteta making a stupid tackle where there was absolutely no danger to the front 5 constantly giving the ball away in good positions.

No one came out with any credit in that game. What was the point of playing a near full strength team and then putting in such a lazy performance.

So once a again we end up 2nd in the group with the choice of all the big boys away in the 2nd leg.

I would rather be Marseille right now, because the last 3 months are once again a complete waste of f**king time.

Can't believe even the Napoli players didn't try fpr more goals till it was too late.

Crap game , crap night. Feel sorry for the infortunates who went out there to see us roll back the months back to when we were average going forward and shit at the back.

Good luck for the next round!

Oh just f off
:?:

I hope that's a joke, mate? :?
who comes on to an opposition board five minutes after that to gloat though? :rubchin:
Would not class what he said as gloating, or wuming, his timing might be a bit shit though :-)
Tomas's post does not read to me as gloating at all.
He is simply expressing his relief after a very tense last few minutes for Dortmund where it looked as if they were going into the Europa League but then qualified, and for us where we were a goal away from the Europa League.

Tomas has never gloated in the past, is a good poster.

We were pretty much f**ke before that performance, now it'll just be damage limitation to avoid the tonking the vermin got.......the way we kept letting the wingers cut in behind our back 4, Navas is going to rip us a f**king new on Saturday.

Nice to see the f**king bottle job session is starting 3 months early.

Thank f**k this is his last season, because I don't honestly know how you do a half time team talk that means the team comes out even more sh*t

We were 0-0 to near the end, and with an early start Saturday they would have wanted to save as much energy as possible.

Would not have been my personal approach if boss, would have asked for an early goal to as good as put the game to bed, then play tight.

But I can understand the players' approach.

Gotta agree with other posters that mentioned this was déjà vu, seen it all too often.

Again agree that we should have played theo, game was set up for his pace.

We really didn't threaten them and tbf we have looked pretty toothless lately, maybe because we are starting to play better sides although Napoli have conceded a few recently.

Girouds lack of pace showed today, he has played well and he has obvious attributes but we needed pace today and Wenger failed to address this.

I am beginning to believe this is the start of some very negative results that we are going to be on the end of :|

With highest ticket prices. The main reason why we finish second. To earn more.
We all know they don't care about winning this. Qualifing is more than enough for Stan.
You really think that?? :? wow? :o

Even if that's not totally bollocks (which it is) it does't make sense... why would we WANT to play PSG, Bayern, Barca, Real or Atletico when the risk of defeat is high and not prefer to play Gala, Zenit, etc. where the chance of progressing is much better?

Surely progressing in the tournament is more lucrative? - we sell out regardless.

I think your theory is utter bonkers, mate.

It was the Group of Death and we got out of it. Everyone moaning right now would have taken 2nd spot at the time the draw was made.

But I still feel it was a chance missed. Wenger must explain why he didn't play Feo at all tonight.
