That was actually a great header. Even though he was only 7 or 8 yards out, the way he arced his run and the ball dipping on him made it a lot more difficult than it looked, could easily have gone wrong but he got it perfect.

Playing 4-5-1 against a side like this is just pointless. Rather than having 3 CMs we would undoubtedly be better served by 2 strikers. Sanchez has been peripheral at best. Nobody has been great but it's more a case of the system fundamentally not working than poor performances.

What an absolutely wretched performance, as poor a half as I can remember. I've lost count of the amount of misplaced passes and hopeful punts into the channels.

It would appear that we have learnt absolutely fucking nothing from last year and are still defending like *word censored*. Whose idea was it for Sanchez to mark Hangeland? Dishonourable mention for Debuchy for wandering off his post too.

Set pieces are still a complete waste of time I see.

Finally: Sanogo. We may as well play with 10 men because I simply cannot believe this bloke is a professional footballer, he is simply woeful.

We are still a million miles away from challenging for the title because if we play like this at Chelsea, for example, we are going to be completely battered.

Kos scoring has lightened my mood slightly. :barscarf:

Not knocking jack but I would sub him for ox and go 4-4-2 with oz and cazorla on wings plus Sanchez and Giroud up top

Wilshere still being fouled, Gibbs crossing no worse than Sagna's probably a bit better, otherwise everything else Topgoon agrees with.

Two set pieces,2 goals. One scored because zonal marking can kiss my a**e,the other scored because Hangeland has become as slow as F**k.

Move the ball quicker or we'll be another casualty of home teams on opening day of Epl.

yup. + why Wilshire instead of Ox - we never ever play well with Tets and Jack in the same midfield.

plus - zonal marking AGAIN - DIrty was left marking Haangeland - WTF.

its a fucking disgrace.

Get Sanogo out.. and don't put him back in.. ever.

I'm dreaming of a day when front will look like:
Poldi-Sanchez-Theo
-- Özil -- Rambo --

People get far to wound up, it's the opening day no team will be fully clicked in yet - we have seen enough shit teams waste time over the years, it breaks up play and we suffered - we didn't play well but I think concern at thus stage is a bit OTT

Dontn see any problem using the same side as last weekend - the first Half was electric that day.

Not the first time Brede has scored against us on the opening day - a poor goal but it came from a shit clearance by chez more than any real danger from them.

Perfect time to equalise, world class ball from Alexis and Kos is absolutely superb in those situations - let's hope we push on now, good options on the bench too

And that could have been said at any stage over the last eight years.

I'd sub Wenger and the useless Sanogo. Save one for potential injury.

Until wenger is gone - we may as well all refer to the opening day of the Prem as 'Groundhog Day'....Because that is exactly what it is.

Why is he playing Sanogo - no offence to the lad, but he is NOT a 'good enough footballer' at this level - he woldn't even get into C.palace!

If he wants to save Giroud for the Cl games ...then play Campbell FFS! :banghead:  :cussing:

I know, one would think that a manager on, say, £8m p/a might mention this to his players?

Yup! you're right . BUT, Sanogo shouldn't even be at Arsenal never mind our main striker on the opening day of the season...should he!
