Said at the beginning of season we were far more likely to drop out the top 4 altogether this year than finally lift the title and so it's proving. He really should have stepped down after the second FA Cup win. It was never going to get any better for him than that.

Chelsea and Liverpool are nailed on and City and Utd cannot have worst second halves to the season with the players and managers at those clubs,mThe curse will be lifted. You don't need a PhD to know that he should have gone (being generous) four/five seasons ago. And yet he was gifted the chance of a lifetime last season to win the title , with all the usual suspects out of the running. Instead, it was Leicester who took it, in no small part by grinding out 1-0 wins, something no Wenger side has been capable of for more than a decade. We've been stalling for a while now and fans won't look back kindly at the last part of his reign, where you feel his obsession of perception of his legacy/and his need to go out on an out of reach high of his own choosing became more important to him than the progress of the club..
That's a great post.
The difference this season is that Wenger is finally up against really top managers and is obviously not going to be able to compete. Our "run" earlier this season was really based on one result - the win over Chelsea, when Conte had yet to organise his team properly.
The second half of this season could be an absolute car crash. We are likely to finish 6th.
