You’re a bit like the Derek Acorah of Arsenal; You’re the only one that seems to see the players frequently, and no fucker believes you.

Perhaps in that situation Havertz will play slightly further forward.Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 7:06 pmDo you think he will directly replace Xhaka ?fivetothree wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 8:26 amGood the medical is all booked in. This guy is a class player.
Xhaka was good for us last season, but this is a definite upgrade.
In which case where does Havertz play ? £50m + add ons is a huge amount to pay for a sub (Havertz) if not.
Of course, squad depth is great, the ability to change tactics depending on opposition and being able to rest someone before they get to the point of being crocked is massive.
I’m intrigued to see what formation (s) we play
Really? So which of Martinelli, Saka, Odegaard, or Jesus is making way for him?

Anyone have an idea when Gareth Barry v2.0 is being announced as our new signing?

Well the village fete is on this afternoon, so he won’t want to miss the opportunity to hook a duck or win some of Ethel’s homemade rhubarb chutney in the tombola will he, so I reckon by 2pm

Re: Declan Rice
Do I think he’s worth £105m? Not a chance. Do I think he could improve us? Yes, I think he’s better than both Xhaka and Partey. Will he improve himself with us? Remains to be seen.
I hope he becomes the Tony Adams of CM’s and be integral to a period of success, whether than happens is a different story.

Re: Declan Rice
Tend to agree with that , it seems the club are prepared to pay whatever it takes to improve the squad. On his own I don't see him as the final answer but he will improve the defensive side of our play. Now we have to improve the other parts that need an upgrade in depth.
