Seen this guy a few years ago in the emirates cup and thought that he looked a good prospect so I am disappointed that it never worked out for him - I suppose it is just another one to add to the list of failures on the list of the worlds greatest ever developer of young players  :censored:

BBC Website:

"Arsenal club bosses say that players who only have two years left on their contracts and refuse to sign new deals will be sold. Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey, 28, will be leaving the club for free at the end of the season, with Arsenal keen to avoid repeat situations"

About time.

What modern witchcraft is this. Honestly, actually putting the fucking glaringly obvious out in public as a new policy is acutely embarrassing

Bullshyte, they are telling us what we wan't hear, if anything that will be used to move on a player who becomes worth a decent transfer fee in the future, we are owned by a leech.

Mirror have us linked today with Tierney from Celtic, not sure there is any facts behind it but Augie is bound to be pleased

Monchi (technical Director) has gone to Sevilla.

Apparently, their transfer budget is 40mil+1

The monchi joining us rumours always surprised me tbh - yes he has a great reputation of signing players before selling them on for massive profits, but I could never see him joining a big club with a paltry transfer budget. Having fcuk all money to spend doesn't just restrict us to what level we can deal in, it also creates a very poor image of a club that used to be big but is now in decline and is a selling club. His target with Seville would be to buy players cheap that they can sell on for profits to reinvest, and at the same time by competitive - reasonable and achievable target I would think. His task at AFC would be to operate in the same manner but with the expectation of winning trophies too - any fool can see that task is nigh on impossible in a money rich league like ours, so I can certainly see why Seville would be a better option for the man.

Anyway it now appears that overmars is the overwhelming favourite for the job, and this is the guy that said he will bring the ajax centre back (de ligt) to AFC if he gets the job - quite how he will do that on a measly transfer budget is anyone's guess

As much as Monchi has a good sense of getting cheap players he also has a bad sense of dealing with players and their values. At Roma he dealt away quite a few players by undervaluing them (albeit they grew bigger when they left) and at one point he completely tore apart (or almost did) the Roma side with mediocre signings. Got a lot of Roma fan who said for every signings we see that had an impact another 3 were losses/shit players.

With our budget + expectations he's a fool if he takes the job. The success he will have at Sevilla will be marginal if he delivers the same at Arsenal, not because Sevilla is a small club or anything. He's more suited to a Sevilla/Roma/Wolves type of side rather than a club who has a low transfer budget but wants to win every year. There's only a fine line you can do with 40m and one of them is defo not winning titles and cups year in year out.

From BBC Website this day:

The Gunners will send Spanish midfielder Denis Suarez, 25, back to Barcelona this summer when his loan move ends after he failed to impress manager Unai Emery. (Sun)

Arsenal are considering an internal appointment for their technical director role, with former defender Steve Morrow, who is club's head of youth scouting, emerging as an option. (Times - subscription required)

Arsenal are the closest to signing Ituano's 17-year-old Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli, who is a target for 25 clubs. (Globo Esporte, via Express)
