THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Its been said on here before but he is left footed so would play the same role as TV???? Whats the point in that?
We need a right footed monster, a bully and beast of a defender to stay back and controll that line. TV isnt that kind of defender
Spahic is right-footed, although can use his left foot very well. He's a two-footed player.

He's exactly the player you describe we need, 'a bully and a beast of a defender to stay back and control the line'. He might be "only" 6ft tall, but he has an inhuman leap on him. He very rarely loses an aerial battle even against the tallest of opponents.

It does amaze me that it is rare to see a two-footed player. I would have thought this would have been one of the things professionals would learn to do.

As previous posters have said, I think the Saphic deal is probably done. I've always said we needed someone hard and slavic but never heard of this guy, so hope he's up to it.

As with the GK situation, Given for me would still be a good signing, but I still think Almunia/Fabianski will be in goal on Sunday which is a horrifying thought.

I dont see Kos as a starter yet, maybe in afew months! Dont see the point in buying Spahic or what ever his name is
Kos will be a starter with Djourou deputising for him and if we get Spahic, he'll deputise for TV and probably play Carling Cup football. If he does join, it certainly wont be for the value that their chairman was spouting off about. I'd happily take him but only because we look so short at the back, would rather re-sign Gallas tbh.
OGOS.... Do you really think Kos is ready to play as first choice? I really dont think he is ready and it could really damage him to put that much pressure on. Every team is going to expose him as weakness and i really think he will be. He should be second choice at best right now.
No, I dont see him as a first choice centre-back atm, but what it 2 months on the sidelines going to do to him? Hardly going to make him a better player. He'll be thrown in the deep end and he'll have to react, he and we have no choice.

Maybe we can send Manuel Almunia & Lukasz Fabianski on loan to Luton reserves (If they would have them) .
