THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can't we just enjoy last nights win without knocking things again? We haven't turned a corner but we won who knows how other things in the game would have changed things but they didnt

Last night was very different to the Shitty game. Does anyone believe we would have won it if Valencia hadn't gifted us a goal and Di Maria got sent off? We weren't very good last night, they were worse!

My thoughts exactly - tactically I didnt see anything different last night than I did when we got butt-fcuked by monaco last week :? Their team lacks the football intelligence, confidence and movement that monaco had and that played a factor in last nights result 8)
I thought we played them off the pitch, they couldn't contain our midfield or our quick movement,we looked like scoring everytime we broke away

Well said. People saying 'if this hadn't happened' Well it did happen. The first goal is a thing of beauty and very well worked. I do think Wenger has somewhat altered an approach, not massively, but we now have a midfield that can both defend and attack, which we've lacked for years. It's not there yet, but it is good to see at least something of a different thinking. Also we seem to have actually worked on set pieces (last night aside!)

Its not a question of not enjoying it. I'm loving it. I was responding to OneBard asking if Wenger was now doing tactics and the answer is no.

Going to Barcelona for the weekend with a group of friends, one of whom is a Manc ST holder. Looking forward to it. :barscarf:

We did play them off the pitch and we did deserve the win without doubt, but my point is that we did so using the same tactics as we have used in most matches this season and there was nothing innovative last night - we played 2 wingers who still expose their full backs and we still play with 2 small attacking centre midfielders but it worked last night when it hasn't on other occasions. We didn't set our team defensively because there was a realisation (on here as well 8) ) that we are better than them and should not need to set up to nullify them, so as good a result as it was, it should also be recognised that it was a victory based on ability and guts and not on tactics :barscarf:

They've got the handkerchiefs (albeit, ridiculously so) out for Ancelotti in Madrid.

Fancy a return to London, Carlo?

LG give it a fucking rest. As you can see from the man united match thread (and others) many of the usual Wenger haters are absolutely delighted with our win and haven't been scared to say so. If you're just wumming then stop.

I've pm'd you

Don't understand why that post was necessary. Are those of us that want Wenger gone suppose to be disappointed with the result at Old Trafford? I don't tick those boxes , still buzzing over the win and still want Wenger out. And in my opinion that is not contradictory.

Spot on mate. The love of Arsenal should always outweigh any hatred of Arsene and does with 99% on here

On a forum where I'd say 90% of posters basically repeat that they want Wenger out (me included); it is really saying something when you are, by far, the most tediously repetitive poster here.

Go away.

I've said it before but you do the actual real Wenger supporters no favours posting rubbish like that.
