An astonishing result on Monday for many of us and a extremely enjoyable one for all of us i think
I am still of the opinion that we get results despite of Wenger not because of him, but that does not in any way reduce my enjoyment of us beating those Manc in their own backyard
I will stick by what i said a few weeks ago though even if we fluked the ECL, and Chavscum and Manc Shitty imploded and threw us the league i would still not want Wenger to remain because simply put these things would not come from Arsene's management but would be handed to us by the incompetence or self destruction of others. We are THE Arsenal we shouldn't have to rely on others to make our season for us!!!
I genuinely find it difficult to understand the viewpoint of those who continue to stick by a manager who has promised so much over the years but in reality has delivered so little for 9 seasons but has still continued to make promises to us where in reality he knew he was aiming for the bare minimum necessary.
There is simply no excuse for continuing to lie to loyal fans year in year out whilst pretending that he is trying his best to attain that which in reality he has little intention or possibilty of achieving.
That, apart from the poor management ability shown at numerous times is one of the major things i hold against AW. Long term Arsenal fans are probably some of the most loyal in the world, and we would most likely have stuck by him if he'd been more honest but he hasn't ever been. His continual flip flopping in the media proves he'd rather prevaricate than be forthright and honest.
Ya cant have it both ways.
If Wenger is to blame for our embarrassing defeats for numerous and varied reasons then he is also responsible for our memorable and somewhat unlikely victories. Hes the manager, its on him.

I'm not due to come back here for best part of a year but having got home just now a little drunk I have to say that, in my opinion, the above is complete and utter *****, with as much substance as a thing with absolutely no substance. PMSL a LOT !!!!!!!!!! lololol
I think to an extent it's viable to say that we may occasionally win games in spite of Wenger - but within reason. I found the suggestions that the players mutinied at Man City and decided to 'do tactics' against his will absurd.

Just think, if we'd bought in a defender or two in the summer like 99.9% of the fans could see we'd be in a title race at the moment. Instead we can all look back fondly at the end of the season at that time Monreal got to have a go at playing centre back.

Revisionism at its best. That's simply a fallacy
We lost to Stoke not because of defenders we didn't buy, we had about £40mil worth of defenders on show that day. It was down to poor tactical set up. We did not lose to Swansea due to defenders not bought. We lost to Swansea because the team's attitude was all wrong, and the tactical set-up was farcical. We lost to Chelski because we could barely create a chance, despite having about £100mil attacking talent on display. We lost at home to ManYoo because tactically, the team was bombing forward with about 10 players when there was no need.
See where I'm going with this? Arsenal's squad is good enough to challenge for a title as personnel stands now. The problem isn't throwing more money at defenders, it's down to coaching and tactical set-up. If you're telling me Arsenal need to spend more cash on defenders to keep out the likes of Stoke, Hull, Swansea and Spuds then nothing to see here....
Still. It's not as if we ever start putting together results when there's zero chance of us actually winning the league eh?
Great goals and performance yesterday. You just need to ask why every season it's the usual "we are 2 players away from challenging"...10 years and counting

Ever considered it possible that there is more than 1 factor at play? I never said we're always tactically sound.
Overplaying of Mertesacker due to complete lack of cover undoubtedly cost us points early in the season though. Look at the table and do some basic maths.

Itchy! : You could just as well have saved your time and energy and left out every other word except for those...
ok so say we finish 2nd and retain the FA Cup I make that Wenger's 4th joint most successful season (along with 2003 and 2005)
what will we make of him then?
if that is achieved then although I would still want a new manager I would also be prepared to get behind him for his 2 remaining years at the club.
lot of ifs though. if we finish 4th and Stevie me scores the winner against us in the cup final then he can fuck off !

We could go through but low expectations bring a certain detachment from proceedings. You know that won’t last if a second Arsenal goal is scored, you know the edge of the seat will become more comfortable and the beer gulped faster.
It’s not the failure, I can handle the failure. It’s the hope that kills me…
