Fair play to Don Unai and special thanks to the headless chicken that is Nunez for blazing over the bar with the goal gaping

Feyenoord or PSV then.
Not bad. Both decent and physical but we should be the better side over two legs.

I was beyond pissed off with our January transfer window because there was a huge chance to land the title. I never at any point this season thought Liverpool were the juggernaut the media were making them out to be, they are in no way City of the last few seasons, they are massively flawed and with a bit of consistency they'd be fucked. I can see us missing out on the title because we are inept up front but when it's over, we'll hear Arteta blame Injuries rather than him shitting the bed for why we didn't win the title :suicide:

It wasn’t January that was the problem - it was last summer. Had we bought a striker then we would be cruising to the title by now.
This is the 3rd year in a row we have had a massive chance - we are just not capable of really going for it though. The club just likes us to “compete” in all competitions without any thought of what it takes to actually win anything.

There isn't the deep enough understanding of what it takes to win the league from the owners or whoever it is that makes the decisions. They seem to believe everything that Arteta tells them and place far too much trust in a man who is simply not experienced enough to make the decisions he needs to make. I know we've done it death but how the fuck could anyone in any position of authority at the club allow us to start the season without any proper goalscorers and then not start asking questions about why we haven't identified one between August and the end of January? Is there anyone there holding the manager to account and asking for plans and strategies? Is there anyone in any position of authority who sets targets for him and then reviews where we are in terms of achieving them? Right now, it seems that we have slipped right back into the cult of Wanker, with the owner and that son of his, either naively or negligently believing every word out of the manager's mouth and giving him far too much power and nowhere near enough accountability.

Stan Kroenke joined the board in 2008.
If you look at things from his point of view then Arteta is doing great - he is keeping us closer to the top of the league than Wenger ever did between 2008-18. That is what Kroenke wants - he has of course admitted that he is not at Arsenal to win trophies, which is why we dont see them anymore.
it is irrelevant who the manager is.

Not sure about that, Van Dijk usually has him in his pocket.
