WALCOTT - which position is best etc?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He should have won a definite pen yesterday, but otherwise I agree his finishing was off. He’s never going to be a world-beater but I think it’d be wrong to discard him as long as his wage demands are realistic.

His best position?.....On the bench, next to his agent, demanding yet more money to fund his injury plagued career, and luxurious lifestyle! :banghead:

i'd recall podolski back from inter and give him a one year contract extension, and loan walcott back the s'hampton. I know which one is the better finisher and it can't theo "kickitatthekeeper'sshins" walcott.
Dun think Podolski has any future at Arsenal. He and Walcott may be off in the summer just like Arshavin.

he wants a near on 50% pay rise. 90k to 140k.

W. T. F. ?

howabout showing some fucking loyalty theo ? - Arsenal have stuck by you over the last three seasons when you've been continually injured....

I'd like the club to take a stand on this - offer him an extension at the same wages. His last wage rise three years ago was from 55k to 90k, and what have we had from that pay rise ? - two good half seasons.

as a player, i've been rooting for him to succeed but all he seems to be arsed about is money and England.

you're crazy. Podolski is finished, and you want to give him an extra year. :?

What's he done to deserve an extension?! I say get rid, or if we can't because he can't find a club willing to pay his over-inflated wages then let him rot on the bench or in the depths of the 25-man squad. We've given him 9 years and I'm bored of him, given the choice I'd rather us give Diaby an extension, at least whenever he plays you always see why he's been given bucket loads of time. Walcott needs his ego dropped a peg or two.

Agree, but he is a marketable English player, who when compared to say Sturridge on £150 k or Sterling who is looking for close to that on his next deal is possibly underpaid, compared to other English strikers.

If we agree an extention £100 k - 110 k tops for me, or he gets sold. He is not an integral part of this team, his only real asset is his pace, and the club may feel he has not come back to the same levels prior to his injury ?

Anyway, Bellerin is faster over 40m (or was it 60m ) so we can play him on the wing instead :) (Wenker must feel the need to play him out of position soon  )

I was one of those that supported the last contract he was offered as I genuinely thought he had showed enough in the year running up to that lucrative extension to be a valuable player for us. His attitude the other night left me feeling sick to the stomach though and its obvious he's got the raving arsehole at not being a regular. He has a great chance with the Ox out to stake his place but if he serves up more of the same limpdicked shit that he showed the other night then let him leave if that's what he wants.

Spot on
Spot on, but I do think that under proper management and with decent coaching Walcott does have the attributes to be a handful at another club....and he may well come back to haunt us,

Having said that I'm not sure he'll be going anywhere.

Well he seems stuck to the sub bench at the minute, lol, I think the writing is on the wall for Walnut.
