No idea about whether this is a good idea or not. He was scoring goals for fun in the U23s a few years back and was being billed as the next great striking sensation. I seem to remember some issue with getting a new contract signed and that we were keen to keep him but then nothing happened with him once the deal was done. A game up front away to Brentford the year before last when we had a Covid crisis and then loan deals. Perhaps the plan all along was to get a few years on a contract and then flog him if he did well on loan. Who knows? The reports from France was very positive but I'm always sceptical about doing well in that league as it's about the equivalent of the second tier In England with some third tier crap thrown in too.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 5:03 pmSky report Balogun deal is done 38.7m pounds and a 17.5% sell on clause
Official, confirmed. Folarin Balogun has joined AS Monaco on deal in excess of €40m package, €30m plus significant add-ons structure
Arsenal will have sell-on clause, it was always crucial point in negotiations.
It will be bit less than 20%. #AFC

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
There was a report a couple of days ago that we had told the Chavs that ESR would be 70m, cheaper for a foreign club. Not really arsenal related ,but Chelsea are in talks with man city about buying Cole Palmer ,city are quoting them a figure in the region of 45m ,now he's only relatively new in the city squad, but if we're selling ESR we should be looking at minimum 60m
To be honest, if we got a 70m offer for ESR, I'd bite their hand off. A 23yo who has had major injury problems for years, is extremely unlikely to change in the future. Great player but like many before him, totally unreliable fitness wise and a luxury in the squad.

If the Chavs really want ESR - Then give us Mudryk. I know some think he has been pants since going the Chavs, but hasn't had regular game time and they are still in a Mess, till poxy sorts things a bit better, and even then! ???

So back to our transfer talk - We've done our spending for this window with the likes of Rice, Havertz, Timber & Raya but Timber got injured and won't play all season so I'd like to know if we plan on getting a replacement or will we simply battle on without.
C'mon McD, what's happening out there?

I'd be Very Surprised if $hitty sell Palmer, not only does he look a real prospect, but it's not as if they need the money AND Pep has been playing him in their most recent games so obviously has plans for him.
As to the Chavs it's there masterplan to buy every player available anywhere and so then they can Win The Prem Title without any contest!
Ceuuuunts!
