Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Crystal Palace have agreed a fee in the region of £4m for Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
Rob Holding to undergo Crystal Palace medical shortly after fee of ~£4m agreed with Arsenal. If all goes to plan, 27yo centre-back will sign 3yr contract. Joined #AFC in 2016 & had 1+1yr to go on deal @TheAthleticFC after @mcgrathmike #CPFC #DeadlineDay

But when all that fails, he can fall back on the "internal market" my friend......see, clever bastard eh? Guaranteed to last 30 years that way.Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 1:25 pmShouldn’t he be working 24 hours a day 7 days a week to bring players in ( but only if they are super, super quality )mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 12:59 pmMikel Arteta confirms he does not expect Arsenal to sign anyone else before tonight's transfer deadline.
Can’t see him lasting 30 years in management
I remember that year when we needed a centre half like anything, and the old c.unt came back with the comment that we had many options including Carl (Jenkinson) who can play there too! Now those were the days of special circumstances, internal markets, handbrakes and accidents....

You may not be far from the truth. From the looks of it they are trying to sign Muslim players, massive names, or both if they can. He ticks the Muslim box and is from a massive club.Stuart L (2) wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 2:38 pmMaybe we could tempt them with Mo Elneny for just £100mOneBardGooner wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 2:02 pmFootball has officially lost it...

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
So am I right in saying the players that won’t be playing are all heading off to be replaced by nobody, with no competition for places and staring down the barrel of exhausting the first team by playing them because there’s no other choice.

This is a truly calamitous window. A reverse trolley dash at the end where we have offloaded all of our back up options for peanuts or on loan.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I had gone with us finishing second, then changed it to fourth, but now I'm thinking around 5th or 6th if the pisstaking by Arteta and Edu does not fucking stop before our squad is actually just 11 players.

To be honest, all these guys who are going on loan or for cheap money, they aren't backups, they aren't people we can rely on to do even a 'decent' job! They are players who we've been moaning about for fucking years. I'd rather see an 18yo given a chance than see Holding, Sambi or Tavares stink the place out again!! Good riddance to shite!!
