Didn't their manager claim to always win a trophy in his second season?
Are there trophies for the three teams who get relegated? :D

Makes it hard to believe Liverpool have only lost one game in the league this year
The've been coasting all season with no extreme events to throw them off their stride. No dubious red cards, generous amount of penalties, favourable fixture list to start with, rivals missing key players every time they face them etc etc. This is the first period in the season they've been stretched physically and they fold as expected. Earlier in the season we had to play away to Atalanta on a Thursday and then went to City on Sunday and played half the game with 10men. Throw them the same challenge and they won't be running away with the title.
I find it strange that Carragher thinks we've peaked when it's actually the dippers who could be dropping off the cliff next season if Van Dijk, Sara and long name right back up sticks.

Haven't been on the forum for around three years, but have been "dipping " in occasionally to see what is going on.
I agree that Liverpool have had it easier than Arsenal this season in terms of referee/ VAR decisions. For example I have no doubt at Anfield that obvious hand ball by the long haired Chelsea left back yesterday would be a penalty. Diaz picking up the ball at the Emirates as Arsenal were about to take a free would have resulted in a yellow card for any other player from any other club. These are the small things that continually favour them. Not sure it is corruption , but maybe a fear by referees of the Liverpool loving media, or maybe it is corruption after all.
Salah was nullified yesterday and then the obvious happens, Liverpool don't function.
They have a lot of busy players who do a lot to achieve not so much. I think.Elliot is potentially their best player apart from Salah.
The manager has got to be questioned too. Look at the games where other teams stood up and asked questions of them.
PSG twice, Newcastle yesterday, Forest twice, Villa and Everton recently and even our game at home. Slot didn't have the answers, maybe he isn't the new messiah. Maybe he is an ordinary manager who got lucky because City had the season they are having, might be an unpopular thing to say but Liverpool are not as good this season as Arsenal were last season. l

The vagaries of Cup wins hides a lot of ills. Look at us winning the FA Cup in 2020 and finishing 8th. You can go all out for Cups and keep turning up on the day while lacking the consistency to compete in the League. Even with our shit strikers we would still be in this League.

Edit - pretty sure they have been resting Isak for the best part of a month against the top sides. They also have no Europe so no wonder they came up against the Scousers on vapours after being taken to pens by PSG.

And this is why we will never win the league until we build a team that’s clearly the class of the field and can absorb these refereeing decisions. We are never going to win a tightly contested battle against dippers or cheatty. Yesterday Fofana planted his foot at the back of Rice’s thigh, a much worse offence than Jhon Duran got his marching orders for a few months ago but VAR didn’t even look at it. No forensics, no outrage from Sky or I had no choice rhetoric from Kavanagh, but reverse the shirts and Rice would’ve headed for an early shower.

A couple of newspapers are linking us to Moise Kean of Fiorentina, you know, the failed Everton striker! He's having an ok season in Italy but has been shit for the previous 5 years plus! I can't believe it's true but fucking hope it's not. With Berta being Italian, maybe he has the hots for Kean........
Stats
Juve. 123 games, 22 goals (15 this season) & 3 assists
PSG. 41 games, 17 goals and 1 assist
Everton. 39 games, 4 goals, 2 assists and 46 hubcaps.......

Sounds like the guy to take us to the next level.....NOT. so fully expect us to pay 60m for him this summer :banghead:

Update: just seen his injury record
Out for 31 days this season already
Last season, out for 111 days!!
Season before, out for 65 days

Fuck me, he's perfect for us!! Sign him up now!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Between now and the close of the Summer Transfer Window We (Arsenal) are going to be linked with both the best (the un-signables) and The Worst (The Dross that no one else would touch in a million years)... Having endured 20+ years of TOF I have learnt not to get my hopes up or believe a word until I see a Player actually wearing the shirt on the pitch (Especially with AI now able to create all kinds of bullshit... the latest one being TH14 being interviewed after having joined the Arsenal Coaching Team... NOT! )...

We can only hope that the New Guy (Andrea Berta) who has a reputation for doing things his way, but also having a very good record when it comes to signings that turn out to be successful...Will Do The Business (no Pun intended)... Now that various Media outlets & platforms are toting the story that Arteta asked the board (the Krankies) to sign a Top Striker last Summer and they refused the money, but only after we had already signed Havertz... There was a Major falling out between Arteta and Edu over signings and the no signings etc...

As all of us faithful Gooners have experienced so many times, It's The Hope That Kills... So I would suggest let's not get taken in by the hundreds of rumours that will do the rounds and wait and see once The Window has Closed...

(and we have signed Mbappe! :-P )
