Personally I am against all this "Plan B" bollox until we get Plan A sorted out first - in previous seasons we have been physically bullied by the likes of stoke and we needed a Plan B but last season we were played off the park by the likes of wigan and swansea so we need to get Plan A in place then work on Plan B imo. It is for this reason that I am totally against signing back up players until our first 11 is strong enough - yes I know last season we suffered from not having a good enough back up to rvp but our priority should still be a quality defensive midfielder and if/when rvp goes then we need to buy a top quality striker and if giroud does sign then he had better be more than just a Plan B striker

If you throw enough predictions out there soon enough you'll get one or two right and many of baba's predictions were made after the event such as Gervinho Bab wasn't a member of the board when we signed him so not sure how he predicted he'd be shit :? We could all see he was struggling from the start so that makes us all mystic meg?

There was loads of reviews on him Flash. Saying that in the French league he had no composure , was awful at finishing, bad at picking out passes and could hardly cross.

Also said he was good at dribbling and was fast with good work ethic. That he had lots of the ball but had ample chances to correct his mistakes. Hence why he got so many goals and assists alongside hazard.

Reviews also said that the prem wouldn’t be good for him as its faster and he wouldn’t get the chance to correct his mistakes like he could in the French league.

Giroud is a different kind of player so I doubt Bapa is right on that one.

augie being miserable........where have I seen that before

Come on mate, we just signed last season's Ligue 1 top scorer. Whether he's back up or not isn't the point. We have significantly improved our attack with this addition.

When Wilshere returns from injury next season our "Plan A" will be much better, so don't worry on that front. Podolski will also make the Plan A work perfectly as he fits well in Wenger's 4-2-3-1 system.

Defensive midfielder? I agree with you mate. It will be M'Vila.

Problem is that our idea of a "Plan B" is basically making changes when we're losing after 60/70 minutes. We should be looking to become far more versatile and able to implement various tactics, formations and mentalities rather than having a "Plan A" and sticking to it unless it doesn't work. We only play one way, if you look at most (if not all) of the top teams they will adapt their style of play to the opposition and game rather than having one or two rigid plans. IF GIroud does sign, and RvP miraculously stays, it has to be that we can use him not only to strengthen the squad but also give us more flexibility positionally. Saying that, 4-4-2 with the current side could be a recipe for disaster given the lack of holding midfielder and the general ineptitude of the wingers in terms of tracking back.

donaldo wrote:Who knows how good he really is?.But the last 3 strikers we bought from France were Chamakh Gervinho and Park. The jury is definately out.But as a replacement for RVP its underwhelming

Cham was never a real striker that could bang in 20 plus goals. His stats before he came were dog shit. Same as Gerv amd Park

this guy atleast has something about him.

just dont want him to replace rvp thats all

If and when Giroud signs can we not at least be happy that we have indeed signed a quality young striker who is in a very strong French squad and is the top scorer in th eFrench League?

I mean some people moan all th etime about Wenger buying prospects and 5 year olds from Chad, but when we are potentially about to sign a talented and versatile player WHO WANTS to play for Arsenal can we not be a little more happy in our attitude.

I welcome the young lad and hope he has a long and successful career scoring goals for Arsenal.
