THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

hartson wrote:Didnt want to post last night as far too angry. I would however like to voice support for the tika-taka style we play. To use it to its full potential though will take just a few tweeks. 1 every now and again have a dig from outside the box whilst you got the opposition pinned back. 2 mix it a little with the odd counter attack, draw the oppo out YOU DONT HAVE TO PRESS ALL THE TIME. 3 the downfull of our system is concentration of the defenders full backs always pushing on, if you cant deliver the cross Gomis dosnt score. 4 the most frustraiting of all, tika-taka is designed to comit the oppo to challanges and when they do we never dive or harras the ref to book players. the last dive i remember was eduardo againt celtic, just dive, roll around, appeal for everything.
We don't play tika taka. The Barca-whores play(ed) tika taka. Tika taka is quick, accurate passing in tight areas that moves at pace up the pitch leading to a strike on goal.

We play tippy tappy. Tippy tappy involves lots and lots of pointless 5 yard passes that go a bit forward, then a bit back, then a bit sideways, then a bit back again, rarely leading to a strike on goal.

But in fairness, like the Barca-whores, we have moved a bit away from that style lately. However we fell right back into it 100% against Swansea.

Oh, and stick diving up your arse. :x

I've now got so bored with Wenger out, I'm now Wenger for life. No club in premier league history has finished top 4 as long as we have. No club in this country has finished top 4 in as many consecutive season as we have in football league history. Like it or not this is the most consistent period in our great clubs history. I still think the best is yet to come. So, we didn't finish with more points, might have something to do with other clubs improving. This season has seen us adjust our approach slightly and next season looks like its set up to challenge. Last season we were top for a majority of the season and blew it. This year we came from behind to challenge and fell a bit short. Next season we'll get it right. Let's win this cup and get on with next season.

What is the achievement in your opinion of finishing 4th? Is it qualifying for a competition that we will never win, and a competition we are so poor in that we allowed Monaco to knock us out. Why were we so poor in the first half of the season, oh yeah its because our manager (who you think is some god), didn't think he needed a CB or DM. The laughable thing about you AKB'S is that next season when we don't challenge for the title, you will be talking about the 'achievement' of finishing 4th, as no season can ever be a failure under Wenger in your eyes.

My top 3 are -

Pep
Ancelotti
Klopp

2 of the 3 are now available and Bayern not exactly in love with Pep right now.

Act now. TURNIP OUT.

Klopp to Madrid, Ancelotti to City.

Pep's not going anywhere.

Our board doesn't have the stones to go for any of the three even if Wenger was ousted.

Mourinho would be in my top 3. Proven winner.

You'll probably say he's not a realistic target, but neither are your top 3 as Wenger is going nowhere.
