I also see that de jong's future at citeeh is in doubt after contract talks broke down - I know that he is probably looking for a kings ransom from them and more than we could afford but how about offering them nasri in a straight swap and see where that could take us ? He is again the type of midfield hardman and leader that this team is crying out for and would instantly upgrade our team by 20% imo
:worried: :worried: :worried:

But that would kill Diaby........

Diaby's career was killed the moment he volleyed john terry in the head. De Jong is certainly the type of DM we need. If we can get him in a makeweight for a deal with nasri, that would be a tidy bit of business.

Diaby's career at Arsenal was killed when he admitted to wearing a Spuds shirt around the house

The Times is claiming that Arshavin's agent is holding talks with Galatasaray:

"The case for selling Andrey Arshavin looked clear-cut this summer, but Arsenal have a more difficult decision to make now with Galatasaray preparing an offer for the Russia forward.
Arsenal made Arshavin available for sale before it became clear that they could lose Cesc Fàbregas and Samir Nasri, the midfield players. Replacing all three as well as strengthening their defence would be difficult. Gervinho has signed and prefers to play on the right wing, but Arshavin and Nasri have mainly operated from the left flank. Arshavin’s agent is expected to hold talks in Turkey today."

Yet again, it's not such a bad thing selling Arshavin IF we sign someone of top international quality to replace him. The worry with Arsenal selling any 'top' player these days, is that Arsole Wenger will just bank the money!

Doesn't really help when arsenal.com is trumpeting how Wenger has an eye for a "bargain"

Lets be honest here, if you were arshavin would you sign for gala and have to endure playing and training alsongside eboue for another 4 years just when you thought that you were finally rid of him ?

Not really suprised by this story. It's a shame but he's been off the boil for a while now. On his day he's an awesome player but those days are few and far between.

If we can get a player of good quality to replace him then it won't be all bad. Not sure what sort of fee Gala would be willing to cough up though.

My money is still on Wenger making the bargain bucket signing of Madjid Bougherra. He's cheap.......just what Arsole is looking for
