Great news he's back and the U18s will learn what expected of an Arsenal player.
Hope this is true...TA being prepped to take over from Wenger in 2017???
I really hope not. TA6 was a great player and captain but has proven to be a shit manager. Same as Liam Brady was. :|
Shit manager with shit teams. The Arsenal may just be the right job for him. It'll be interesting how it turns out.

I guess that means we will have to endure Wenger telling everyone how he nearly signed him, twice next season.
Saw a wag on facebook post that United have replaced RVP quicker than we have !

Not so fussed about Ibrahimovic, genuinely think he'll be a relative disappointment in this league compared to what people are expecting of him.

Mikhtaryan, however, I think he'll sneak under the radar now. He'll be the real star and with less attention now, perfect. Possible masterstroke by 'Mou'. Pretty hard to look past Manchester dominance for the top 2 at the moment, depending on what Chelsea do. We're clearly pissing in the wind again, Xhaka is a good signing but in relative terms we're slipping backwards so far.

At his age, and given where he's played up to now, Ibrahimovic will struggle with the pace and physicality of the PL. 5 or 6 years ago? Yeah he'd have nailed it. But at 34 (35 in October)?? I'm very very doubtful. He's an arrogant trip-wire too. How long before he gets sick of not being the superstar, because there's no way he'll start every game in that league at that age, how long before he gets sick of getting kicked and pulled by Stoke/West Brom/Wham defenders and over-reacts?

He'll get a couple of great goals sure, no striker goes insta-shit overnight, but he will not be the big dog in the PL.

Oh, and he's a total cock.

Yes agree..but still would have taken him if he was the only alternative to Giroud..
Transfer window opens today, most of the other nasty clubs act early but with one exception Arsene sportingly waits til it's legal...and then dies fuck all..

torres did! and Shevchenko. both shite overnight.

I don't think he will be great but he should have the physicality...watching him off the ball at the Sweden paddies game in the stadium the Irish defenders just bounced off him.

Those Oirish defenders weren't PL standard though!  Also, tbh he was absolute shite in that game, a total passenger for most of it.

It's not the regular challenges that'll get him. It's the cynical dirty fucker ones that most refs in the PL do not see or even understand. Also the PL is a long hard season physically. In Spain Italy France you get the physical battle occasionally, in the PL it's every single game. The accumulation of it will frustrate him.

I can see him having a meltdown "oop north" on a freezing pissy rainy Monday night in November! :barscarf:

Agree with that mate. Ibrahimovic won't know what's hitting him over and over again. The relentless physicality of the Premier League will get to him at some point and with a massive ego like his he will either produce something brilliant or have a total meltdown.

Just like Cantona 20 years ago.

Even if he was 30 years old I would still be well pissed off if we signed him - he is a lazy arrogant cock who is the type of player that is the "cherry on top of the icing" luxury player that can make a good team even better. We haven't a great team and need players with a better team ethos and workrate than this dickhead, and as bad as giroud is, I don't think inbrahimovich would be much of an upgrade over the course of a season and certainly not at 300k per week

His record seems decent but would he be worth it with the outlay, circa 30 odd million. Genuine question, I don't know too much about him!
I suppose it's the same old questions really; could he deliver 20+ PL goals a season? Could he adapt quickly to the pace and physicality of the PL? I have my doubts.... :|

I think we (at least in the short to mid term) need to aggressively go after a striker that has proven he can deliver 20+ PL goals. I'm all for signing "potential" but not if that's all we sign. We need someone that can hit the ground running. Giroud, Welbeck and Walcott have all had a fair chance to show what they can do and none of them are anything more than bog standard PL average. We need PL elite strikers.
I agree about the premier league ready factor but other than Vardy I am not sure who else is around who we could realistically go for who is proven to score 20+ goals per season. Unless we threw stupid money at City for Aguero and he was open to coming to us, Kane wouldn't happen (not that we'd be wanting him for his set piece skills!). Vardy was attainable but even then as we saw when he was playing for England against stout defending he wasn't very effective. Lukaku? If he was coached right he has the potential to be unstoppable in the future but he would be under Wengers tutelage and Everton with their new found wealth might not feel the need to sell.

I don't think Wenger has much choice but to look abroad for what is needed, but there seems to be mixed feelings about Lacezette on whether he would be the best option. Nobody seems to think he is worth 30 million anyway!
