Have to agree with olgit. Surveys, like stats, are notoriously unreliable when it comes to actual objective facts. They are subjectively designed to demonstrate what the person or organisation that commissioned the survey want demonstrated.

A few years ago, right at the beginning of the recession in Oireland, the filthy lying rag known as the Irish Independent "newspaper" published a survey that claimed the average wage in the Oirish civil service was €50,000 a year. Oh the outrage from IBEC and the media a good few of the less intelligent members of the public! OOHHHH THE FUCKING OUTRAGE!!! :x :box: :tickedoff:

This quite surprised me as I had CO's working in my unit that were pulling in about €350 net per week for 45 to 50 hours per week (even though their contracts were for a 37 hour week), with zero overtime pay and zero leave in lieu.

:rubchin:

But hold on!! It turned out the cúnt with legs that conducted the survey had actually surveyed about 2000 civil service managers that were on about - you guessed it, kiddies - €50,000 a year! Which is barely a competitive manager's salary in the private sector. But our mate the "journalist" at the Indo decided not to mention that.

He decided to just say "all civil servants are on an average wage of €50,000 per year"! :barscarf:

Surveys, like stats, are horseshit.

Interesting report and it makes some fair points however there is a flaw that i can see, it doesn't give an exact timescale for any of the investment proposed nor does it actually say or confirm the investment was 100% guaranteed but that it was planned, which as we know in terms of business investment can take any number of years and/or be cancelled or redirected at the drop of a hat.

You're also ignoring what was said in the last two paragraphs, which points to possible reinvestment or recommencement should the government manage to guarantee what is required. So lets not get hysterical over a report of possibles and maybes with no concrete guarantees.

6/10 must try harder, facts, proven facts please Rob
do i get 7/10 for this one?

This thread is packed full of one sided articles and arguments, this is how it will be until we know firstly IF Brexit will be allowed to happen and if it is what form it will take and how it will affect us all

The thread should be locked

My grammar is not great, but I can spell just :).

Just went to the petrol station yesterday, filled the car up at 114p a litre WTF!

Checked the price of oil when I came back, it's only around $45. I appreciate petrol prices are a lag on what happens in the market, but the last time petrol was this price crude oil was much higher. Post Brexit Inflation is starting to creep into our economy.

Nutty says inflation going up because of Brexit, it is proven (at the moment) it isn't, so now its because we aren't out of Europe yet

£ 1.14 a litre.
.82p goes to the government at a fixed rate.
.32p covers the cost of fuel , profit to the manufacturer , delivery costs and finally retailer profit . So the cost of crude oil is only a small proportion of the final cost.
However small though it may be it depends on the amount of oil sloshing above ground and as OPEC has reduced production to force the price up the currency fluctuation due to Brexit has had little effect on the retail price as it only works on the actual cost of the oil which is about .19p.

Opec has very little credibility in deciding Oil prices anymore as no-one sticks to their quota and thus the days of seeing spikes in the maket because of quota cutbacks have gone .
Shippings in the toilet and demand is currently low so tery shortly there will be an awful lot of VLCC;s parked off Singapore with Crude as prices for next year are in Contango .
In laymans terms crudes coming off again and could well sink down into the 30's but will that mean cheap petrol ,no not a jot our petrol prices are fixed by cartels and u always pay if crude goes up but never realise the relief when they fall !
Brexit has fuck all to do with crude or Petrol Prices !

That's a fair one. That amount of dosh definitely goes into the EU coffers. The UK gets about half of it back. The UK doesn't have any control over how that returned amount is spent, though. I can't find out that information either. For all I know, there may be a special fund for ethnic vegan transsexuals. I'll have to apply for funding 8)
To be fair, there was a whole load of shite spouted by both sides. I assumed that would all stop after the polling stations closed. I got that one wrong  :banghead:

In truth there are always consequences to any action but so far there hasnt been any action.
The Brexit result wasnt expected and it's hardly surprising the Tories havent worked out a strategy for it because the City wasnt expecting it either and it is the City that will decide how or even if it's done .
The EU wasnt expecting it either and they have no clue how to play it either ,the EU is creaking at the seams with all nations on the brink being held up by the international banking cartels .
If May had triggerred Article 50 straight away I think the EU would have been in meltdown by now !
The amount of crap written on it goes to show that no-one has a fucking scoobie whats down the road ,but many want to walk down it anyway !

A neutral judiciary , ?

I don't think so.

Hugely hugely inappropriate for her to be passing any comment at all on a case which is due to go before (but has not yet been argued in front of) the Supreme Court.

Especially as all 11 are sitting so she will have to hear it.

Naturally they will all have preliminary views at this stage but publicly commenting is a staggering misjudgement.
