The way to get their attention

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Seriously though, Im no lawyer but I really don't think we can use this. I think the club would sue and whoever is liable would have a pay a lot of money.
Mines smaller
Sadly I think you're right and that is a shame. But there's other good names out there to use and we may be able to get away with using it as a motto perhaps?
Still, I'll keep the signature it looks great (nice work Dan85)

To be honest IG you just have to check out the news page of the website to find that it isnt the most active of groups. And I've never seen a group at a game wearing their overpriced scarves either, just the very odd one or two. I really didnt and dont like the "Black scarf" movment as its aims are just a bit too broad, and the whole merchandising thing totally put me off. In my opinion they saw how well the green and gold scarves sold at the mancs and just kinda jumped on the bandwagon in order to cash in. So rule 1 of this protest group.....NO MERCHANDISE OR CASHING IN. If Funds are needed then the members of the protest group should put their hand in their pockets.

Now onto the new protest group, it really wont work unless you get numbers behind you, and as quartz pointed out, you need a definate definition of what you stand for.

Is it wenger out? Spend money? Wenger out, get someone new to spend money?

I think that unless you have ONE real focus area (e.g. Wenger out/ Spend Money on player), then you change alienating many. Me for example. I dont want Wenger to be sacked. I want Wenger to start spending some of the money that WE have given our club and money we all know they are sitting on. Id also like to see wenger admit he has got it wrong by not bringing in a higher of level of player that could have seen us win trophies, anyway back to the point, for it to work you need to have one main goal, only then will you get the type of numbers that would get the group recognition.

I honestly think if you went down the Wenger Out route, you wouldnt get the numbers at all. Spend Money is something that could and would get more interested. The Arsenal FC, Not PLC is almost perfect.
Very good shout Bren, I am with you on this. I don't think I want to go down the Wenger out route but the spend money route. This would also ensure more people are onboard.

This is what I want. Arsene out would just alienate too many people and it wouldn't get off the ground, as I said asking for the team to be improved, money spend, project ended would get so much support.

Any hint of contradiction in our statements will get shot down in an instant also. So just like the best political speeches or Chief Executive's presentation to the analyst community, it needs to be well penned and rehearsed.

Imagine you get an opportunity to sit with Gazidis and one of the largest shareholders. On one hand you say "Ivan, we want more money invested in the team"...on the other hand you say "Ivan, our ticket prices are too high".

If I was him I would say OK...we drop the ticket prices by 20%, that's £600k per home game lost, multiplied by an average of say 25 home games = loss of income of £15m per season. You already say that we don't invest enough money in the team, now you're suggesting that we take £15m straight off the bottom line. How does that gap get replaced whilst servicing the existing debt structure and increasing investment in the team ?

No confused messages - let's have 2 to 3 very simple, well thought out goals. Know that the statements do not conflict and prepare for the club to try and prove 100% that we know nothing

List of things to do;

1.) Name & Motto
2.) 2 or 3 main aims (not contradicting as Steve says)
3.) Facebook & Twitter
4.) Try and get some feedback from John Cross etc

QuartzGooner wrote:Yeah SteveO has identified a clear and important item.

Anything that campaigns for"Wenger Out" or "The Board Out" is doomed.
It is too cliched, and by it's very nature encourages resistance against it.

Focus should be on getting the manager to buy more top quality players/improving the coaching.

And that is it.

Anything else such as ticket prices, relations with the club, etc is pointless, as there already exist fan organisations to deal with that, which have regular meetings with the club.

Our focus must be on changing the frustration of seeing a squad that has been "So near yet so far" for the last five years.
Not surprising really but PURE RUBBISH

The focus should be on the club showing more ambition. Whether that means sorting out the manager or confronting the Board on its policies is uncertain but it would be irresponsible to pretend this is solely down to the manager and pressuring him to take care of it. Basically they can just say money is available to spend if the manager wants to one more time then and get away with it. Or even if they change the manager if these are their policies all they will have accomplished is changing the manager, not correcting the problem.

Real pressure has to be exerted on the Board because even if I am completely wrong in my beliefs it is ultimately still up to them to rectify the situation - they still own and run the club after all. Either they are content with a manager lacking any ambition whatsoever whatever his motives or he is acting on their own lack of ambition whatever its motives, and either way they are the only ones who can really fix things, whatever is required to do that.
