Protest at Swansea Match

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Jumpers For Goalposts wrote:Looks like I'm in the minority here as I'm all for protesting at the way the Club is being run. It seems perverse to me that the worse the team / Board / management team perform, the more we encourage them. We wouldn't put up with that in any other industry.

And to say we need to get behind them now more than ever - well I suppose we do but we did that at Old Trafford and they lost 8-2. What more can we do????

No you are not - even though I am in agreement that no protest should happen this weekend I am also in total agreement that protest should happen and very soon too (next home game maybe ?). As I said previously my reason's for deferring is that the new signings from abroad do not need to walk into a warzone in their 1st game when they are trying to fit in and need our 100% backing.

All that being said as glitch has correctly pointed out, the club have made a transfer profit again and in a team light on quality and numbers this should be totally unacceptable to the fans

Would like to finish off with a quick question to those that oppose a protest for the foreseeable future......would your stance change if we found out for sure that arteta and mertesacker were only signed because the club knew at that time tv5 and wilshire (and gibbs even) would be out for at least 2 months and that if that wasnt the case then we would not have signed anybody in those positions ? Just curious cos for me it does seem very coincidental that the injuries to tv5 and wilshire were announced after signing those players and it does seem foolish to me that people have shelved a protest cos they are happy that wenger has finally bought players when all the signs suggest that they were only signed cos of recent injury problems

I don't think there's any coincidence about the signings and the injuries.

I think any possible protest has been somewhat diluted because people are just so relieved and amazed that we actually signed some experienced players.

I also believe there is no coincidence between the signings and the injuries to TV5 and Wilshere and that is very worrying in that, if it is true, it demonstrates that Wenger has learned NOTHING from the last 5 years of repeated mistakes and failures. :(

We might not be letting our shit Board know how we feel (yet) but Everton fans are planning a peaceful protest before their home game aganist Aston Villa on Saturday. Their protest is about the direction their club is heading under the current chairman, Bill Kenwright.

The group organising this are calling themselves The Blue Union and their spokesman Joe Jennings told BBC Sport. "This is not a personal attack on Kenwright as our detractors claim, we are protesting about the reasons we are unable to invest in the team."

My reason for mentioning this on here is this protest is already one of the main items on the BBC - can you imagine the enormous headlines available to Gooners if ever we stopped moaning in private and organised any kind of protests about the way our Club is being run??

I know - lets not protest incase we upset new players earning a fucking fortune from the club.

Dont think thats a very good reason not to do anything. Theres a bigger picture than the feelings or sensitivities of newbies who havent kicked a ball yet.

No it's Matt Lawton mate - he is the Daily Mail chief football writer and he is possibly the biggest and most deluded AKB in Fleet Street.

Lawton wrote a 2 page article in the Mail last month saying how brilliant Wenger is - I pasted a few of his AKB gems in the "Wenger Quote thread". Just like you when you saw him Augie, Lawton even went as far as to say that any Arsenal fan is basically stupid for doubting Wenger.

But his best AKB-ism was this one "Arsenal may even be successful again when the Financial Fair Play regulations kick in, in 2013". So the best Lawton can do is tell us to wait for 2 long years when something might happen, and as a result of that something else might happen and we also have to hope that every other club won't work out a way around the new regulations.

Matt Lawton = AKB w**ker.
