I agree, the opposite of basement, good thinking. When Bendtner is winning you the Champions League with a curling right footed strike from 30 yards out, this season will be seen as the one which made him the man he becomes. In many ways this is the most Arsenal related thread of all :barscarf:

Stoke on Sunday, and Nicklas has been told it might well be him and Wickham up front. Should be a very effective front two. I'll let you know how he gets on in excruciating detail :barscarf:

What's most worrying?

1. Pink boots
2. Lack of shirt
3. Celebrating hat trick

...?
You know what though, in a world where a lot of good players look like Rooney or Tevez (or a dodgy sort of a hobbit thing like Messi and Aguero), isnt it nice to have a striker of genuine class and pedigree who you can look at and say "fuck me, what a body, what a fucking good looking lad". He's like a fine racehorse, not an ounce of fat, just a pure performing machine. Thats probably why Bruce signed him back, he realises his lass is now with a horrible mercenary c**t who looks like a gypsy and has come to his senses and realised that even he would be unable to turn down a physical specimen like Bendtner. If he couldnt say no then his daughter can hardly be blamed for doing the same. That fucking body, wow, that lad stays in shape like!

I will indeed, dont you worry about that! Well, thus far he has been very impressive at Sunderland, not a hint of bother. His boots for Chelsea were a rather fetching white colour. He has stayed away from pink boots thus far but I will update you the moment this changes. His hair style is still impressive, he obviously pays a lot to have his hair looking that good, as above its nice to have a quality striker who takes such care over his appearance. As for night clubs, well, all is quiet on that front so far but we have a network of spies who shall update us the moment he goes out in Sunderland (or more likely Newcastle). TBH as long as it isnt within the 48 hours before a match I couldnt care if hes out getting drunk and shagging random women, the boy has a gift and it would be unfair not to use it
I'm not sure, but I think our mackem mate might just have come out of the closet in that post...

Don't get too excited just yet lads, but apparently Bendtner might yet return to Arsenal at the end of his loan spell :barscarf:
He also rubbishes the talk about him being suggesting he's one of the best strikers in the world. Sounds like a canny lad in all his interviews tbh, here is his latest one (from http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12040_7180903,0.html) :

Sunderland striker Nicklas Bendtner admits life on Wearside is a world away from the bright lights of London.

The Denmark international has joined the Black Cats on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal and is set to lead the Sunderland attack at home to Stoke on Sunday.

And the 23-year-old insists he will do his utmost to ensure he settles in quickly at the Stadium of Light.

"It's very different from London, but you just have to learn and adapt," he said.

"I have rented a good house and am probably going to spend most of my time there, as I did in London, and then spend time with my family when I am not playing football, so it's going to be okay.

Great time
"It's different but I think you should be willing to adapt everywhere you go. Obviously it's not what I'm used to but I'm sure I will have a great time here."

Bendtner has been dogged by an interview he gave 18 months ago where he was quoted as saying he viewed himself as "one of the best strikers in the world" but that he needed to score more goals.

Having struggled to establish himself in the Arsenal first team, that seemed a bold statement, but Bendtner has been keen to set the record straight.

"What I said is that when a striker scores more than 20 goals a season then the papers are quick to say now he's one of the best strikers in the world," he explained.

"I said I thought in my game that I can always improve but the thing that I missed that I needed to do was to score more goals.

"But it was difficult for me as I never really got a run of games so I didn't have a chance to do that."

And asked about the possibility of returning to Arsenal at the end of the season, Bendtner made it clear he would need reassurances from manager Arsene Wenger that he would be given regular action.

"One thing for sure is that I want to play football," he said.

"I do not want to do what I have been doing before. If it's going to be the same way I would rather not go back.

Welbeck example
"I've not really seen much of their games, I've just seen the results. Apparently they were quite unlucky against Borussia Dortmund, who scored in the last minute, but I hope they will do really well and that the young players there will have a great season."

But Bendtner has taken heart from Danny Welbeck's loan spell at Sunderland last season, during which he earned his international debut before returning to Manchester United and breaking into the defending champions' first team.

"What happened with Danny was a fantastic story," he said.

"He comes here, does well and is now doing really well for Manchester United.

"If I can do a similar thing that would be great for me."

nah, its not a great city (some decent areas like but the centre is a state due to lazy labour people getting voted in time and time again and all spending being directed towards newcastle) but in a way (unless he just goes out on the piss in newcastle all the time) at least it might make him concentrate on his football. He's only here a year, get yer head down, concentrate on the game and see what happens.

A quick report just to say, again, wow. Basically just what we have been missing since Quinny went. A proper centre forward capable of bringing people into play, leading the line and forcing sides onto the back foot.

Not our man of the match today (that was either Larsson, Vaughan or Sessegnon) but despite this he held the ball up well all game, left their left winger on his arse when he skinned him, was the reason for Woodgate's own goal (the ball was crossed in, Bendtner had made the run and Woodgate had to get something on it- if he hadnt then Bendtner would have nodded it in). He then went and got the assist for our 3rd goal of the day. So 2 games played, 2 assists and a hand in a Woodgate own goal.

I'll be honest and say there were a couple of occasions where I thought he could possibly have closed down his man quicker, but it was only a couple of occasions, the rest of the game he worked his arse off. Ended up being substituted for Wickham in the last ten minutes and walked off to a thoroughly deserved standing ovation, which he seemed to really appreciate. He wasnt played as a lone striker the whole game, often he had licence to drift and he was so good with the ball at his feet that this played into his hands perfectly. I thought he'd destroy Stoke and he went and did it. They're a long ball merchant side who try to bully opponents, well they didnt manage to fucking bully Bendtner- he beat them in the air, he out-muscled them and when he got the ball to feet he fucking raped them. 4-0 and our first win of the season, gerrin :barscarf:

Bendtner rating for the day: 8.5/10

Bentdner like Traore will probably succeed, for the fact they haven't got the same pressure on them when playing for a big club like Arsenal

how much of the media spotlight do Sunderland get - hardly fuck all...your only on the telly twice a year, so he can go about his business, without feeling every touch and pass is Scrutinise

I dont think Bendtner gives a fuck about pressure tbh, he's the most confident player around and Gyan walking out on us and leaving him as the only senior striker at the club hasnt bothered him one bit. I think he'll probably do okay for us because we'll play him week in week out in his favoured position and wont give him a 20 minute cameo on the left wing and expect him to score. He wont get many goals for us imo, probably just about 10 in the season, but his ability is obvious for all to see and I genuinely think that he could go back to Arsenal and do a very good job if he was to be used every week up front and wasnt to have unrealistic expectations on his shoulders

he will never do a job for the arsenal, the bastard just swaggers around, chewing gum and smiling to himself, with embarrasment when he miss a chance from 3 yards out

You have to wonder, with AT and NB doing well at their new clubs, maybe it's just the atmosphere around Arsenal? I really can't see NB doing better simply because "pressure is off" - like safctm says he's one of the cockiest players around.

Must admit, I was certain that he wouldnt do a job for Arsenal but it sort of depends how the season goes for your lot. He needs regular games up front but, obviously, isnt in the same league as Van Persie. So if you're going to give him enough games up front to make a difference then you'd need to be playing 4-4-2 which I woudnt suggest doing just to accommodate someone like Bendtner. If you're aiming for and getting the top 4 places then if I was you I'd just be hoping he does well at Sunderland so that someone else (or us if we can convince him) might come in and pay you good money for the lad.

If, however, the season goes badly and you miss out on the CL and (although I hope he doesnt) Van Persie gets pissed off and leaves then you'd need more strikers in and, with the additional drain of Europa League matches, I think Bendtner would be able to play enough games to be worth sticking with- since you've got him already it would be a lot cheaper than trying to bring someone else in and the people you could attract would be more limited if you dont have CL football to offer.

Generally speaking though I agree, he isnt good enough for Arsenal, but I wouldnt completely rule the lad out of featuring for you again just yet. Who knows, with a full season of games behind him he might just come back a fair bit sharper

Heres that shit Bendtner showing how terrible he is by scoring twice in Denmarks game against Norway the other week.

Terrible first touch for the setting up of the first one wasn't it !
