The two guys we looked to in order to salvage a win for us today...
Orbinho @Orbinho
As a substitute, Arshavin has contributed one goal and no assists. In 2011, Chamakh has contributed one goal and two assists in 297 minutes.

I've just finished reading Moneyball. Billy Beane adores Wenger for his use of stats in football. Quite simply Wenger uses the wrong stats. The guy thinks he's a genius. He's just an arrrogant fool in reality.

Do you have anything to back this up?
Unless i am mistaken what you have said is factually incorrect. I recall PHW and Wenger saying that there are monies there to be spent.
I don't doubt for a second that the board (i.e. principally the Kronke vs Usmanov situation) is part of the problem but i am far from convinced about what you are saying.
back it up???? no, but what reptuable business is going to say (apart from that flopped corrie actor bill kenwright) that there is nothing for the fans/tv companies/merchandising outlets to give any reason for optomisim, no PROPPER money to be made...proof in the pudding once again money is spent only after transfer revenue has been recouped - why not buy all these players at start of the TW. look at the net profit on transfers since emirates opened in 2006

Annoying thing is that Wenger is being serious. People say "well he'd hardly tell you if he wanted to sign someone", but I reckon he actually would. Every time the window opens he says our squad is strong blah blah, and we sign nobody!

See you say that mate, and that was my way of thinking previously, but summer just gone is the one which really made me take notice. We needed a left back - Kieran Gibbs was never ever in a million years going to be fully fit for a season.
Everyone was saying why don't we sign Jose Enrique? Premier league left back, good quality, strong player and a decent defender with experience, only 25 years old so best years ahead of him.
Who does Jose Enrique sign for? Liverpool. How much? £6m.
Who did we get? Andre Santos, a "defender" from the Turkish League for £6.2m.
Then Wenger says they needed time to adapt?
That's not budget constraint, that's plain and simple mismanagement. There's nothing more to say.
yeah but fella look at WHEN they signed, enrique was right at the start of the TW and santos (who arsene views as a back up to gibbs) was signed 2 says before the TW closed when it was apparant gibbs was injured and wenger probably BEGGED for some funds...wenger masters in economics so understands the need for capital in these troubled times, just wished for once he would think like a coach and root cause what he needs and demand the the funds from the tight ass board to get it right, according to our board cant compete with man city/chelsea (wealthy benefactor), or man u a club that has assets business stratigies and install client base that means that all debts (nop matter how big) are sustainable. so 4th is ok and spend just enough to keep us there stratagy is going to be in place until stadium is paid off
Phil,
Go back to The Arches. You are talking total bullshit. I don't need to justify that statement. I just know for a fact that you are talking bollocks.
Goodbye.
ahh LOOOL another jumped up little cock jockey with no common sense, you are a flop of the highest order, mi give reason we are where we are and i am NOT ASKING YOU TO JUSTIFY ANY THING - just accept you are a fan of no relevence importance or consiquence to anything arsenal just hand over ya money like a good little girl
We really could have done with Cesc today, he would have been able to help us win that match.
Even someone like Henry would have been good to come on as a sub as there was no need for him to run fast, just finish well which he should still be able to do.
I was worried when Gervinho got 1 on 1 with the keeper he tried his best to mess up and I think the defenders could have done better on the line but somehow he scored.
Sadly the best we are getting in January is Henry on loan and Oxlade-Chamberlain actually playing.

You're talking bollocks Mr Mitchell. How do I know that? Because Arsenal's only debt is now financed via a long-term bond on fixed interest rates. They can't repay the debt early without penalties. The big lumps of debt we repaid in the last couple of years was against the stadium. Wenger has a reasonable enough transfer budget. He simply chooses to piss it up the wall on wages for dross.
If you know what's good for you son, I'd back off, because I know more about The Arsenal's finances than you ever will.

Fwank's self importance is derived from his 15 radio minutes of fame me thinks.
frankbutcher wrote:SWL............get the banner out of the loft.
Well, the next window of opportunity for the banner is certainly upon us now. If we don't beat QPR and then spend January listening to The Self Harming Amateur Economist discuss "dizzying prices", "internal options" and the pending meltdown of football (something he first predicted in late 2008).......then our fate is sealed and we will finish 5th at the highest, and watch our local rivals with a ground no bigger than THOF somehow able to compete with "Europe's elite" despite having less resources than ourselves. Still at least we can crack one off at the lovely new apartments we've created and the continued Arsenalisation of the stadium. We may even get a statue of Gazidis commissioned as some sort of personal recognition of how one man can destroy a club in such a short period of time.
Dropped points vs QPR + no signings made before the commencement of the Afro Nations = GET THAT FUCKING BANNER UP
I'd get the banner out even if we won the Champions League, I will never forgive the *word censored* for what he's done the past half a decade and more.

there is absolutly no CHOICE about it. its common sense says that if he was allowed to spend he would. like a mortgage when your fixed interest period is up then you can overpay or redeem without penalties (loan structures (no matter how big) are quite easy to understand). that being said capital is building so at the next refinancing oppotunity the loan capital can be reduced. still dosnt explain the 1 up front tactics though

Phil,
It's a bond. When you re-pay early you are penalised. If you re-structure, the Bank will want to put the rates up. I work for a Bank (Arsenal's Bank). Wenger is doing things his way, because he's stubborn. You quote logic. Wenger doesn't follow normal logic.
Phil, you really need to research the finance side of things before arguing about them.
Arsenal agreed a finance deal to get loan repayments that suit them over a fixed period. They CANNOT repay quickly, otherwise they face large penalties. They can't just agree a new deal because the bank isn't going to lose money just because Arsenal fancy changing the terms.
Wenger admitted he had a lot of money to spend if he wanted to but he said he would only buy super quality.......then signed Park. I think we know the rest of the story.
Wenger is senile and delusional. But special circumstances caused that!!

you are probably right its a bond but no bank would give a whole of life fixed rate as it would not make sense as when the bank of england raise rates YOUR bank would miss out big time so they would give a fixed rate for a period of time then offer a new rate in lieu of interest rate changes, but ill bend to YOUR banks unusaual busines model you are obviously far more qualified than me. please mr butcher would you be so kind as to let me know of the term the interest rate he redemption penalties.
