Re: Forget the Wenger hate, and admit its a great turnaround
Credit where it's due. They do seem to have turned things around and are on a bit of a roll. The last 4 games weren't the easiest but they came through them all (lucky against liverpool admittedly). I know that a lot of people want Wenger out and tbh I have always been on the fence on this one. Obviously the last few seasons weren't his greatest, but who else is going to come in, replace him and challenge for trophies on his budget. Another problem is that the players seem to love him. If he goes can you honestly see the likes of RVP staying? The annoying thing with him though is that we are only a few players away from having a very, very good team. But we have been saying that for a while now. Has it finally got through to him and will he address it in the summer??

Turned our season around?
And who exactly was responsible for killing our season before it even started by not fixing our problems?
Next you'll be singing one Arsene........

This week I think Wenger is the bestest but I might not feel the same next week. It's a bit like triffle, today I like it but if I eat loads of it this afternoon, tomorrow I might not want some more.

This. 100%. Desperately trying to snatch 4th or 3rd at the end of the season is hardly the work of a managerial genius is it?

I love and respect Wenger for all he has achieved IN THE PAST. But it is the past. And he should have gone 2 or 3 years ago at least. Regardless of this current run of form, I still want him gone for his REPEATED failure year after year to address issues with the team/squad that even a spacker like Robbie Savage can see need addressing.

Everything Wenger has done is in the past, thats why it's described as done and not doing or about to do. Just an observation and my first chance to use bold text.DB10GOONER wrote:tel wrote:Turned our season around?

Wenger still has to go, our turn around is as much down to a spud and chav collapse as it is to any managerial masterstroke by Wenger.
The signs of arrogance and incompetence are still there, last nights substitutions come to mind.

I was quite impressed, still getting to grips with G2G but am warming to it. Miss not having my old avatar and signature, the place could do with a bit of arse.DB10GOONER wrote: Nice bolding there, Wayne.![]()

Yes its a great turnaround. Only thing to watch now is what he does with players like Chamkah and Djourou who need replacing.
Loved the passion tonight it seemed to have left the club for a long long time. Best win of the season IMO because Newcastle were as hard as nails.

They were hypnotic.

Re: Forget the Wenger hate, and admit its a great turnaround
Lets cut the crap.Yes its a turnaround but who got us into the shit in the first place. Its another season without a trophy.Who was it who left our signings till deadline day thus ending any chance we had of winning anything before it began? Who was it who kept saying Cesc and Nasri would not be leaving when everyone knew they were? This season we have suffered our worst defeat in 115 years and the worst ever defeat in Europe.
What has happened in the last few weeks should not cloud what came before it.Wenger will not change. He wont spend £25m on a world class player. He will carry on repeating the mistakes of the last 7 years.A lots of fans are saying the last few games proved Wenger right. How?This time last season we were still in the title race. From day one of this season we were never in the title race.

Re: Forget the Wenger hate, and admit its a great turnaround
The man simply must go and as soon as possible too. He got credit for his tactical approach last week v milan and that baffled the s**t out of me - he was 4-0 down what the f**k else could he do except tell them to go gung ho
It saddens and embarasses me to see how many Gooners will be converted back into akb members after this mini run
It seems like the dire crap we have witnessed most of the season never happened in their world
I think it is safe to say that he will be in charge next season unless we have an end of season collapse and these wins will have convinced him as well as the akb that success is around the corner although quite how he expects success with the likes of song, gibbs and feo as regular players is beyond me
Btw is there no sane minded Gooner sitting near the c**ts that keep putting up that "arsene knows" banner ? I know if I was near it I would rip it down and destroy it in a heartbeat

Re: Forget the Wenger hate, and admit its a great turnaround
Credit where it's due as ever but come the end of the season the cold hard facts will be 1) it's now 7 years no trophy, 2) this year we haven't even been in contention for one single trophy and 3) it's another season of regression - albeit I much prefer & am much more positive about this team than last year's.
I'm resigned to the fact Wenger's here for next season at least now, whereas up until a few weeks back I really thought he'd be on his bike in the summer. And as it happens I think there's genuine cause for optimism, not that I'm banking on any of it. But these past few weeks just show what could have been & that it's not all about the lack of signings, it's the way we've continually failed to get the best out of what we do have that's just as bad. If any of this "comeback" has been a reaction to Wenger bollocking them after the 1st leg in Milan then it begs the question why was the gauntlet not laid down to them sooner, considering Milan was just one in a long line of unacceptable performances.
