Thoughts on Pistorius competing???

Far greater scientific minds than mine have considered if he has an advantage or not but surely the fact that he is unable to get lactic acid build-up in his lower leg (presumably a significant adversary for those running 5 400m races including relays)?

I think everyone admires the man. The first double amputee in history to compete in this competition. Nice guy too.

The problem of "unfair advantage" will arise if he gets among the medals.

Before these Games started I was not very interested.

But I'm now getting quite emotional about the whole thing. Team GB now third in the medals table. If they finish the Games with about half the medals score of China or the USA it will have been a fantastic achievement. :barscarf:

I wasn't really interested beforehand...though I was and still am looking forward to the Men's 100meters Semi's and Final.
However, a friend told me about the Opening Ceremony - saying it was 'Amazing' and that I should watch it...whch I did on BBCiPlayer...and have to say I was Very Impressed....it was a Magnificent Achievement - and Danny Boyle did a truly awesome job....I can see how it would inspire and remind the British People of what a Great Country we have - compared to many in the world...no NOT perfect by any means...But it certainly made me feel Very Proud..and I am anyhting but a flag waving Brit.

Here's a link for anyone who may have not seen it:

I think he deserves huge respect and admiration for overcoming what would 'sink' many other people...Good Luck to him.
