As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It's not what, but whom you know and yes I do have dialogue that I try and convey here and other relevant places but not keen on having my legs stabbed with a dodgy brolly so one has to be careful at times on what can and cant be said.
I can only repeat what i hear and gut feeling from what has been said and done and ( opinion) still conclude that Red & White appears our only alternative at present and they are determined to get control and allow our club to benefit from Usmanovs incredible wealth, no matter where or how it has been obtained and no matter what historic crap (or truth) is dug up and thrown at them.
I agree that whilst the shareholdings stand as they are we only have Usmanov as the other option.
Luckilly despite some of the rubbish said about him, he seems a handy option to have.
Some worry about a "sugardaddy" taking over and throwing billions at the club to win trophys but I really dont think that would be his way. Im sure he has said that the financial model wouldnt change dramatically just enough for us to propperly compete, i.e spending the £30m a year we get in champions league alone on players and wages not just stuffing it under the mattress. Kroenke is bad news and in it for personal wealth.
George fella do u work for Gazprom Or have u been co- opted by Mr Dein into the camp only u sound like your ITK ?
I know nothing about Usmanovs grand plan , and have zero opinion on whether he will be better or worse for us than Stan and his Syrup,I just know that Stan overpaid for his shares for which I curse Dein and Fizman for (but more Hillwood) and he won't put another wooden nickle into the club .
Whilst he didn't blatantly debt leverage the club as the glazers did with newton heath ,and hicks n co did with the grievers he still borrowed a considerable sum in order to purchase the controlling state of the club .
Stack that on to the millions we owe and u begin to understand the parsimonious short termist financial policy that the club has adopted since 2006 .
The club believe and they may be right that even if the traditional supporters get pissed of and refuse to come to games they will be replaced by tourists who will buy more at the armoury .
Usmanov is an irrelevancy to Stan ,even if he goes over 30 percent ,which given his riches he could have done a very long time ago ,they have no intention of letting him in to piss on their chips .
What few people know is that he was offered Fisbangs and deins shares at the now derisory price of 6750 per share way back some years ago, but he tried to haggle the price down . Dein sold to him fizbang wanted to squeeze them lemon and upped his price to 7 k which the fatman baulked at !
HE may be the4 elephant in the room but if he really wanted the club he could have stumped up a long long time ago but chose not to .
North London born , home away europe and just very well connected through years of good networking and yes i do have dialogue and should point out that you should stop linking and assuming that DD would be involved on a Red & White ticket, that was then and this is now and highly unlikely.
What is missed regarding Usmanov and ownership and buying shares is their true value. If Red & White announced they would no longer buy another share ( besides KKE) and they could well do that when they reach 30 % ( under 50 shares now needed ) then the current artificial price will fall considerably as there will be no buyers ( except AST if they can afford it)
Are we really a billion pound company (62000 shares x £16k ) if we end up 5th this year -or even next year ?
BSM march
Back to Dec 1st and i await with interest- we have been 1 or 2 results away from serious noises last year and now this year but victory tonight and a feasible top 4 position after Villa and Everton will surely have a big impact on attendance on the day and plays into the AKB brigade once again but lets hope everyone looks at the bigger picture and our long term future.
Keen to see what banners appear and whether the manifesto / mission statements are promoted and the backing of Red & White are followed through on the day- there is a subtle difference between wanting change, wanting stan out and wanting Red & White in. I still think too many are scared of losing the quarterly cup of tea with IG to want to be seen on the march
Sadly for Kelvin and the BSM, despite all their efforts, their success is dependant on our teams failure and us all suffering pain before gain because until that happens the ground swell of support will remain diluted
Right I want to go to this now. Been on Exchange and there is only one seat in the lower tier, in Block 3. Never sat there but isn't it Wenger central there?

By going you are doing exactly what Wenger and Gazidis want.Go to the march then go and watch the game in the pub
And i will say it once again the march should be all about removing the manager

I'm going to spend money on a train fare and if I buy a ticket I am giving some poor mug of an ST holder most of the cash. I have gone from 20+ games a few seasons ago to 1 so far this season. No Arsenal Xmas presents this year and it was the first year Chippy Jnr didn't get a replica kit for his birthday (October) since he was 3. I'm doing my bit.

Now is block 3 as shite as I imagine?
It's not terrible. You'd be far worse off in blocks 31 or 1.

Totally agree. The march lacks focus. "We want our Arsenal back". What does that mean? Things like this need to be completely single minded. One message and one message only. "Wenger out". That is the single most important change that is needed at our Club. Even if the current Board remains we could still have some level of success on the pitch with the right manager.

I still understand the BSM not making it explicitly about Wenger. Posting regularly on here and listening to the discontent at away games you'd think the tide is well and truly turning but turn up to any home game and it's astounding how many people are passive or even vociferous supportive towards Wenger. To a majority of fans, he's still untouchable. Which is sickening.
To be honest the overwhelming majority of those on the march will want Wenger out and there are likely to be scenes reflecting this as tensions spill over. In any case Wenger will see this as an attack on himself as he shares the board's every view, and after all this is Arsene FC so it will go much to the same purpose.
I for one totally understand what the BSM are trying to do.
There are too many people who see Wenger as the club for a Wenger out protest to be anything but incredibly divisive. While I personally would love to see that, it's not the right thing for the BSM to be doing.
Furthermore, they were set up as an organisation to protest against the board, and have maintained a line of silence on Wenger.
Better to have protests against the board than no protests at all.
