Ramsey`s workrate was superb and has been all season. Our James Milner/Antonio Valencia.

Thought we folded like a deck of cards after the sending off. Lucky to have held out mixed with some decent dogged defending.

I think the BFG has really come on in the last few games and is becoming more and more of a leader in this team. We will miss him against Norwich I reckon, although winning that one should be a formality with or without him.

Oh and fuck off Giroud.

Onwards & upwards.
Ramseys quality has been a pile of shite. He is awful. At least giroud has scored a few goals as our second striker this season.

I guess without the red card and the struggles to keep the ball late then Podolski would have come on at some point.

Two little moans from yesterday...thought there was a suspicion of offside in the build up to their penalty and was a red card really justified ? I thought Kos had enough of a presence in the box to cover the situation.
Good win and a good performance. I listened to the game on Today FM (Irish Station). They said Wenger ignored Mert as he was going down the tunnel. On TV after it was obvious that Wenger turned to the bench to reorgainise the defence.
I'm no AKB but credit Wenger for that. We discussed on the Manure/ Real thread that Whiskey nose lost the tie for Manure on the touchline by ranting and not acting.

Sorry, just to clarify... your crediting the manager for bringing on a centre back when Mertesacker was sent off? - isn't that what every manager does in that situation? :o :?

That's like crediting a michelin star chef for getting another egg from the box when one falls on the floor, isn't it?

Wenger was too slow to react to the growing pressure 10 mins before we conceded the penalty, stuck with two central midfielders who were already walking on thin ice thanks to yellows.

Luckily he got away with it yesterday. But on a different day, against a better team, who knows....

I was making the comparison with Fergie against Real when he didn't act and that cost Utd the tie.Too often Wenger would rant at the fourth official in those situations.Yesterday he didn't, he reacted to a situation and maybe he got away with it but for once he didn't cost us a win.

After looking at the red card again I think that although Kos was covering he wasn't close enough to block a shot ,so red probably justified.Still unsure about the offside, think Mert was concentratinhg on that rather than Long.

The situation with Ferguson was different. I do blame him somewhat for their exit because he sat there stewing and before he made any real changes Madrid had won the tie. But it's a slightly different scenario where a wide player gets sent off in a game that they had been largely controlling and very comfortable in, and given Real levelled the tie nearly straight away there's a lot of debate as to what approach he should have taken.

We were holding onto a lead in a league game, under increasing pressure and had a central defender sent off. He only deserves praise to the extent that an utter moron would have kept 3 at the back in that scenario. I'd be more willing to give credit had he made changes that changed the game but they didn't really - we still got absolutely battered and failed to hold onto the ball for 5 seconds in the last 20 minutes, we just had an extra body at the back.

ramsey was utterly shambolic. apart from missing sitters, having the first touch of a rapist and playing stupid chipped 5 yard passes and generally trying to do too much with the ball , then yes, great workrate
Giroud put in a poor performance too, how he starts in front of Podolski I don't know.

Why are you so obsessed with Giroud?

Changing our tune a little aren't we?

Giroud was terrible but surprised to hear so much criticism for Rambo
thought he put in a decent shift...
