As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I don't think they believe they can really sign Fabregas - especially not at that price, it's crazy (even though I've actually seen a number of people on BBC forum claiming that £30m is far too steep for him). But it will keep their moronic fans busy until they sign Fellaini. The old unrealistic bid and subsequent excuse to the fans that so-and-so wasn't available is straight out of Arsene's transfer tactics booklet.
That could well be the case - lets face it we're going to hear how close we were to Higuain and Suarez but (and I can heard the words from a certain someone's mouth) "we can not force clubs to sell" and perhaps United will adopt a similar stance. They can say they were very close to both Thiago and Cesc before buying a lesser player
The point I disagree with is that he would never go there out of his love for Arsenal. If United become desperate and Barcelona accepted a deal in the region of £35m-£40m for Cesc, firstly I'm not sure we'd match it and secondly I don't think he'd bat an eyelid to go to OT

Yeah I do think that it's the same basic tactic - make noises about signing a player you know almost definitely is not attainable - gets the fans excited and hope that their eventual disappointment is aimed at the player's club, the player and circumstances.
Although the difference is I'm sure they'd love to sign Fabregas - I don't think that Wenger would relish spending £35-40m on Suarez.
amazed at the lassez faire attitude to disloyalty - if these pricks want to spend every holiday in Manchester then fine
but they have to know they're giving up their London privileges,
it's a lifetime of pubes in the soup for vanStaplecu*nt
Lets be honest cesc hates manure, it would be pretty disloyal of his boyhood club to send him to manchester. And I quote again this interview, 9 mins in:
FFS just bring him back to his second home and be done with it. He would look like a complete *word censored* going to manure after saying these things.
Can we just accept what he says as being the truth, he is one of the few footballers I respect for their honesty/morals.
This question seems totally irrelevant, whether we have cesc or manure have him we still own't be challenging them for the title (oh yeah, unless wenger goes out and buys 3 world class players ), so basically don't care.....

It's cricket season
That's a silly point.
Watch as wenger lets cesc Slip away and will Cover his arse by saying the odds were Long On him joining us anyway

Mid season or Off season, doesn't matter, we don't sign the required players. All we get is Leg-end byes.
Cesc will sign for Moan Ure, it's nailed on now.
The final embarrassment for a once 'big' club, now just a Mickey Mouse, money making machine. Welcome to Arsenal FC
Well I for one am taking a little bit of solace from Pique's comments that, having waited so long to rejoin Barca, Cesc is hardly going to throw that all in within a couple of years.

why is it 'nailed on'?
Nonsense post, just as bad as the Higgy is done, we've got Fellaini etc etc assorted twitter ITK bollox.
Gerrard said he was going to Chelski. Vieira said he was going to Real Madrid.
Neither of those moves happened. Nothing is nailed on until they sign
(and even then it isn't 'nailed on' they'll play for you - Clive Allen)
taking every opportunity to knock the club you support/hate
but this is not even an opportunity - it's a prediction, a fantasy

I admit I was Bowled over when we were linked to higuain, suarez, rooney but now am just plain Stumped as to what is going on at Arsenal, we've been Caught out before when getting our hopes up
Cest or Suarez........who do we need most? I know.....for pure football reasons Suarez...he is what we need, but we also take a risk because of his antics... we have got a player of quality waiting in the wings...better than Cesc was in his age....Zalalem....buying Cesc would hamper his progress...no reason to be sentimental and waste money
