Re: Everton at Home
They played us off the park for the first 20 - 25 mins that should never happen....

Re: Everton at Home
Chill. Our defence is hugely improved and for the most part it looked pretty comfortable today despite being under regular pressure. I think that is definitely a game we would have lost last season.

Re: Everton at Home
maybe, but everton are a chimera of loan players and decent players. they are playing well at the moment (the united result for them shows nothing as united are poor), but a club with title ambition should beat them at home.augie wrote:Tbf a draw was a fair result
hopefully this isn't the start of us coming unstuck as we actually play some of the better sides.
top teams have to beat those with similar ambitions. bar beating the scum, we are not doing it.
im so frustrated by this result. again the oppo score down the left. gibbs is a weak link defensively especially if he has no cover.
i thought the fear of the scum getting close to us were gone, but its all converging again as they scrape lucky wins.
we have to get 4 points out of chelsea and city.

united are shit though.clockender1 wrote:i'll take that. we could of won, could of lost.
not our best performance again but that was against a young quick dangerous team (ask united LOL)
Barkely MoM LOL, for me it was Ozil or BFG/Kos.
walcott looks like he's making an effort as sub - is it world cup year ?
a week ago i would have taken being 5pts clear. the run continues. bring on City.

This game was HUGE and we blew it.

Re: Everton at Home
ffs whats up with everyone,we didn't lose,we were played off the park for large parts,we weren't at our best but got a point,we are 5 points clear, will people please get some perspective

Re: Everton at Home
i feel like us sitting back the 1st 15 minutes absorbing their pressure was part of our "tactical plan" and i think it killed us!!! it took us too long to build momentum at the start.
why didnt we go out and put our foot on their throats?!

Re: Everton at Home
The predicted draw (shock horror)
Actually thought the second half performance was good enough to win it for us, but the draw was a fair result. They looked dangerous throughout and were much stronger than us for the first 40 minutes
Fair play to Martinez - I didn't get the hype with him at Wigan and thought he would be a massive flop at Everton but he's got them playing very good football and only 1 defeat so far this season. Definite contenders for the Be All and End All places

Well +5 is still better than +4
Both teams played well, too bad we always fell asleep after we score. It was from tears of joy after Özil strike to heartache from that spaniard kid. Damn Barcelona.

Re: Everton at Home
Fucking knew it even at 1-0. These two dropped points will come back to haunt us of that I have no doubt

I'm sure many will disagree but I think AW deserves credit for making a bold change and going for it.
I think Everton missed a trick by not attacking Jenkinson more.
I don't have a problem with the changes as such but people have been quick to dismiss the suggest that we need a big physical DM but today showed how easily our smaller flair players can be negated in a game. Tbh I thought that ozil was doing ok in patches before santi went off but he really took it up a gear after the changes which brings me back to the question of whether a team with ozil, cazorla, ramsey and wilshere all starting is unbalanced and prevents all of them playing to their max

Re: Everton at Home
unless we reinforce and in jan it will be same old same old, we will comfortably be top 4, but once the season drags on and we tire we will be shown up unless things are done. united are fooked though unless they spend big.OneBardGooner wrote:This game was HUGE and we blew it.![]()
