Man City Community Shield

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Fair to say Chambers chucked in at the deep end. Good luck kiddo.

Having had several months to address this crap the fact that Sanogo is starting again at Wembley is nothing short of embarrassing. He'd be lucky to have been starting in Cardiff v Blackburn on Friday, never mind Arsenal v City at Wembley today.

But hardly surprised rebs ? Despite 1989's beliefs, le cock will mostly play sanchez on the wing and the fact that he is playing le postman up the middle ahead of him today should confirm this to everyone :( The sad fact is that we will probably see only a centre back join us before the end of this transfer window (unless podolski or cazorla are sold) and people who claim to know otherwise (inc that tony leen journo) should know better than to expect le cock to recognise and act on glaring weaknesses  In fact I would actually go so far as to say that it wouldn't surprise me at all if wenker doesn't even buy a centre back if chambers does well today and next week
The over excitable bellend is strangely quiet on this one. ''Sanchez is our new striker!! lol!!!!111!! Wengs is genius fam!!!'' :barscarf: :barscarf:

Can't call this one, Sanogo to fluff about half a dozen chances is nailed on though.
ffs its only one game the charity shield at that. You think this proves that Sanchez won't play as a striker?? I'm sure when there are differences in opinion everybody will cling to any evidence they get.

I don't think he or I ever said Sanchez won't play wide, he is after all very good there. But if it's a choice of Giroud or Sanchez up top I'd choose sanchez unless we're playing fodder.

Let's hope Sanogo can at least cause mayhem in their penalty area, leaving some opportunities for Sanchez to seize on.

Despite our own shortcomings City will miss Silva and Aguero (and other than Silva have very little off the bench). Also a completely mid-table back-line.

But it's a choice between sanchez and le postman and he picked le postman  It's all well and good saying that it is only the charity shield (and I agree mostly with that sentiment) but the reality is that he has picked his strongest team available today so le cock isn't treating this as a runaround. If he thinks that it is important enough to play his best players then surely he has put them in the best positions as he see's it ?
