This is in complete contrast to last season where Wenger rushed him back like an idiot and shortly after returning from a lengthy injury he played 90 minutes 5 times in a fortnight and broke down. I'd like to think it's a case of Wenger learning his lesson but the cynic in me thinks Wenger is pushing him too hard and/or there has been a setback which hasn't really been publicised. Not unlike Koscielny being on the bench at Stoke where if he was actually fit enough he would obviously have started. Can't believe he wouldn't have played in the last 7 weeks at all otherwise.
I suggested a few weeks back that le cock was rushing back kos out of a sense of panic and of course yesterday was the first game he has played since

The kos situation is different from the wally situation though as le cock might feel that he can risk playing kos now and buy a centre back next week (I didnt say a quality centre back mind

) - of course the flip side of that is that he is running a real risk of making the injury worse and ruling kos out for the next few months thus still leaving us with 2 centre backs (BFG and whoever he buys)
I agree with the points some Gooners raise about not giving wally any game time - unlike many, I am still to be convinced about how good he is perceived to be but bringing him on yesterday when the game was stretched in the last 15 minutes was ideal and would help pin the shammers back. It seems that wenkers default substitutions mode now is bringing on as many defenders as he can - he has no faith in the starting back line, the character of the team or indeed the gameplan, to keep the opposition out and that is a damning judgement on HIS team. In GG's era that backline would have welcomed whatever the opposition threw out them - of course they were not unbreachable but they would have been horrified at the panic station substitutions that has become the norm now
I think that the biggest concern right now has to be the careless way sanchez is being run into the ground. There is absolutely no excuse for playing the little guy against qpr the other day and as a foreighner new to the english game, you would have to wonder how his body will cope with this mad spell of 3 games in 7 days - if he gets injured there is no limit to how low this team could drop
