As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
We played incredibly poorly and everyone could see that. It was as bad as I can remember as even at 2-0 we didn't appear to have anything about us. The booing was both predictable and deserved.
Prior to today's game many of those same fans were predicting a real challenge for the top trophies,so how can they flip that much after one game ? Back in the world of sanity most of us could see the weaknesses in the team and the clueless c.unt on the bench
World of sanity? you do know it's not you in one corner and the Emirates crowd in the other, don't you?
Regardless of anyones views on the club and the potential of this season, it's entirely reasonable and predictable after a performance like that to show frustration and disappointment by leaving early or booing or getting pissed to ease the pain
Nothing the crowd did should surprise you. It's 60,000 people from all walks of life and different views on The Arsenal. They don't share one frighteningly big AKB brain.
There's even people there who agree with you! - if you were there, wouldn't you have been frustrated? I know I am.

The thing is when Giroud is playing well he's very good, when he's not he's fucking abysmal. There's no middle ground with him, thought he was beyond shite today.
You think Benzema would sign for us after watching that shower today? Any top player who has smart people around him would tell them never to sign for Arsenal while Wenger is in charge. Ozil regrets it and the look on Sanchez' face today said it all.
Chamberlain needs a clip around the ear. He needs to be told that losing the ball so close to your goal is criminal. He did it today for West Ham's second goal, he did it in pre-season in Singapore and he did it against Monaco for their 3rd and decisive goal that knocked us out.
Talented footballer but talent alone isn't enough. People should be drilling it into him that it's ok to kick the ball away!
Giroud was hugely disappointing though. If ever a performance highlighted a need for a new striker (not Theo!) it's this one.
Nobody played well though. A midfield with Ozil, Ox, Cazorla and Ramsey should be passing and moving the ball around far quicker and with more quality than they did today. It was pre-season standard football; not Premier League.
Too good a pre-season raised our optimism. Benzema would still have been isolated up front and made no difference. Brings the players down a peg or too and they can focus on the hard work needed to win this league.

There could be some truth in that.
For years we've fallen flat on our faces whenever confidence boils over into complacency and today did feel a bit like that. They never really seemed to get into gear
I'm not sure I can handle another season like the last few. It's demoralising so I really hope this is a blip and not a sign of things to come.
so improved because they signed a keeper when it's been an issue for several years.
still need 3 players, Centre Half, Defensive Mid, and Striker
even if Conq. does well he's young and will need a spell and guidance, why can't wenger get someone in there, it's been a problem for years?
top ten richest club in the world and this is the results, year after year. always a few players away.
and Oezil. I would've sold him a year to 18 months ago. He looks like he can't be bothered. Lazy passenger. Some defend his lack of pressure, defensive awareness, but when you have Giroud out wide sending a cross in to him and he's the only one in the box you'd think he get out of second gear!!!
ridiculous, saw Giroud out wide sending crosses in several times today. That's simply not right.
where is Plan B? we seem to have one way to play and that's it. We encounter resistance and we don't have the creativity and passion to change things.
and Wenger sits there on the bench not doing anything. He rarely even gets up and get involved , even since last year.
and his body language during stoppage time with his coat in his hands like his tube station was coming up and he was ready to leave. He's a man who's lost the plot and knows it.
What a big joke this team is!!!
all the big teams have changed their managers within the last 5 years. There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing it. There are plenty of managers out there.
One Arsene Wenger.....There's Only One Arsene Wenger
Just give all those new signings time to gel and we will be fine....lol
Another laughably under prepared and ill equipped squad to head into a new season. I'm sure one mad trolley dash in a couple of weeks and the inevitable top four finish will persuade the windowlickers otherwise though !

But according to most on here, he's better than Courtois?
Surprised that Charity Shield master class last week meant nothing!
Who said that?
I've said that Courtois and De Gea were better, but that he still has class and is equal to Lloris. Who said he's "better than Courtois"?
The poster Rigsby said this, and was backed by 2 others!
I'll merely repeat that, like Silvestre, like Benayoun and like Welbeck; if the top teams are willing to let Wenger have a player, it's cos they know he's dumb enough to overpay for them!
