I have to agree SteveO, i'd happily have Ospina still in goal right now, sorry but Cech may be worth 12pts a season but not right now he's not.
Window licking? Do you honestly think sane Arsenal fans would get carried away with that? But conversely, the doomsayers shouldn't really complain, an ugly win away was something we couldn't achieve a few seasons ago.

IMO we should have put palace out of the game before they even got going. In the circumstances it's a good result so we should be happy, pisses me off when the usual peeps still moan. Some players still haven't started the season but thank god for Alexis.

The thing that really annoyed me about the game was Giroud having a pop at Alexis in the first half. Total gulf in class even when he is half fit, so shut it you french tart.
:high5: - Also the reason Alexis didn't/wouldn't pass to him was because he would have been flagged off-side.... :?

Are footballers just naturally thick. Most of them seem to have an IQ of about 30. Giroud was on the ball and Ozil must of been a good yard offside, but it didn't stop that french knob still passing to him.

Agreed - Santi was good but did give the ball away a few times...thugh his defensive work was good...he may be skilled and small but knows how to tackle & get the ball back.

Monreal is so much better than Gibbs.

Now the french Lamp Post has scored (a good goal) wenker won't dare drop him and give Theo a chance... :?

I’ve just heard Pardew Chamberlain moaning about Coq's lack of dismissal as a key point in the game. We should have been out of sight and were the better side; move on Al.

I dislike that bastard a lot.

Delighted we hung on for the win, but today exemplified the need for a DM. Coquelin is a level above Flamini, but he is a head case who lunges in continuously, and had it been a different ref, we would have been down to 10 men.

Let's be thankful to the ref today for giving us a chance.

We've got both of our right midfield options fit and available (Chamberlain and Theo) but yet again we're trying to shoehorn as many central midfielders into the team.

Theo, fresh from his new £140k a week contract, can't get in the side ahead of the Ox or even a central midfielder. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pick Theo either, but that's the folly of the new contract for a guy who can't get a game on the right and 8 or 9 years of evidence tells you Wenger doesn't see him as a lone striker regardless of what he tells the media.

It's ridiculous. It will probably be enough to get us a result today but is it really too much to ask that the manager assembles a balanced team with natural width and players played in positions that suit them? :?

Bonkers.

Still, 3pts please! :barscarf:
This doesn't sound like you? It's ok if we lose today anyway, as the transfer window still isn't closed yet - am I right? :rubchin:
I want to think you're not a WUM, but why did you say that? :?

Perhaps sane Arsenal fans wouldn't but one look at the club's Facebook page will show you many a 'fan' doing their best to put Mr Sheen out of business.

The unbeaten run up to the 19th September has begun !

I simply asked, if we can't pass judgment since the transfer window isn't closed yet. A simple question with no offence in it.

The window licking comment is just ridiculous, but that particular poster says the same crap all the time and it never gets any less boring. Better to just ignore it.

I thought today we played good football and it's our best side available - I don't disagree we need a proper striker and for my money Gabriel will be a regular within the next few months, but how can't anyone moan about a win there when the pressure was on.

We played Ox last week and it totally unbalanced us, and I'm sorry Theo isn't anywhere near the first team. Cockles I hVe huge doubts, thought Arteta was excellent today. That eleven is the best we have and whilst I agree we need more goals, that side will, and has, won a lot of games and went to city and United and won last season.

Whilst I agree with a lot of what's said on here, I see the same deficiencies, some of the comments on here are absolutely ridiculous, but that's nothing new!

That was not an easy game to have after last weeks debacle, but I think Palace will win a lot of points at home and Nick some off the big sides. As bad as last week was, I don't see how anyone can be upset with that - my old man told me over 20years ago Arsenal always do better when the backs are against the wall - and that's why I love this club. Just wish we wouldn't back into the wall ourselves sonetimes eh?

Ah, ok. Fair enough

Of course you can pass judgement. You can see what's going on on the pitch as much as the rest of us.

The only thing I've ever said about the transfer window is that it's difficult to judge it's success until it's closed. That doesn't mean I don't want signings early; it's just me being pragmatic.

How you've concluded that that means league games before the window closes doesn't matter to me is bizarre. You get 3pts for a win whether it's August or April!
